How Many Times Have Your LCD3 Headphones Been Returned to Audeze for Servicing (RMA)?

So it turns out Audeze have authorized the local dealer here in Israel to do repairs himself, so no need to ship them abroad!
They provided him with pairs of matched drivers and he performs the swap. I dropped them off today and should get them back in a couple of days.

I wonder if it's like this in other parts of the world too? If the repair turns out well this is much better than having to pay for shipping and waiting weeks to get them back.

So I got them back. Took 2 days, I didn't pay a dime for it and they sound amazing.
I actually wouldn't mind that happening again in a couple of years ;)

  in italy too
i actually trust more the italian dealer (they are in the field for more than 30years) than the factory!
sorry Audeze!

I get where you're coming from!

Mine failed too. It was from 2014. The right driver made some noises like having a loose connection or something but eventually worked when I twisted the cable a bit. Was okay for a couple of days and then it died :(
Sad, they sounded so good that I want an another pair until the time Audeze have fixed the drivers.

Can anyone give me a detailed comparison between the pre 2016 and 2016 LCD 3s? If they don't sound as musical as before then I'll sell them. Much appreciated, thanks!

I'm dealing with Audeze right now to repair a failed driver.

I'll just say it's been a headache. And I won't even mention the new higher repair cost until this done.

Are their other headphones having driver failures also?

No clue. I had the LCD 3, X, XC and 4s. But when the 3 drivers failed, I sold the others to save me the diminishing returns.
I have sent the 3s for repair and when they are back I'll sell them too.

So you're probably aware of the new higher replacement cost.

I saw an ad for an X that said the driver had been replaced after failure.

Vert, why do you have to pay for replacement of a failed driver? Are you out of warranty?

Edit: presumably driver upgrade and driver replacement are two different things? Just looking at the last few posts...

Yes, it's out of warranty. It actually failed before, for the original owner. He had them replaced before he sold them to me.
