well, I don't have 3 or more of anything, but if I do like something (shoes, jeans, a good wine, a nice pair of headphones, whatever) it's nice to have two of them. but you're right, the cutoff for true collecting is 3 or more or the same... and I've been able to resist so far!
at some point I had 2 cd850(for spare parts to the big boys), 1 cd1k and 1 cd3k and it's always a guilty pleasure to expand the 1st gen. Sony CD family...refurbishing the new acquisitions and listening to them, it's like xmas time...each time

I've never owned 3 or more of any headphone. At one time, I had 2 pairs of HD600 because I was doing some replacement cable comparisons. I also had 2 pairs of K1000 briefly as well, but that was because I thought I was having a driver failure in my first pair. Turned out I was wrong, but I sold them anyway since the second pair was in better shape.

Ah, sorry, I understand now. But still I am dreaming about one single headphone that can do all ....

No biggie. Buying the exact same headphone 9 times is redundant and serves no purpose imo.Thats what you thought. Your reaction was justified. No headphone can do it all cause we are all wired differently. I think a guy had 6 or 8 340's, but he was heavily into modding them, and we found out there were 3 different versions. Just go to meets. You will find the one.. And don't buy by price. No headphone connected meto the music more emotionally then the 240 sextt, which retailed for 45 bucks in the late 70's.
At one point I had 3 ER4 (well technically 4 as I had a spare set of drivers with a broken stock cable). ER4-P and ER4-S both with APS ER4 cable plus my monster APS V2 balanced ER4-P. The first 2 are gone now though. For a short while I had 2 L3000, one stock and one APS V2 balanced but they are also both gone now.
