Made a chinese soup with anise seed, ginger, s&p, bok choi and wonton! So easy and so good. Also added some shirataki noodles :).

My gf signed us up for Quinciple.com a while back. Every week they deliver a box of local(ish)/sustainable ingredients to you with recipes that incorporate most of them, but the box doesn’t contain everything needed for most recipes. It’s great in that we’ve started eating a lot of stuff we wouldn’t otherwise. I thought it would also be great for my wallet as I usually buy all the food (and cook) for both of us and my gf is paying for the service, but the reality is I’m spending about the same on the extra ingredients needed for the Quinciple recipes as I previously did on complete meals. And since I always need to make a trip to the store to pick up extra ingredients, the service doesn't really save me any time either. Oh well.

tl:dr - Aimless rambling.

I occasionally get a box from HelloFresh: https://www.hellofresh.co.uk/

They provide all the ingredients needed for three of their recipes in each box. The quality of the produce is first-rate, and you can download the recipes from the website without ordering a box.

I don't get a regular delivery, but sometimes, when you are in a rut and can't think of something new to cook, HelloFresh is a boon. They do a 'classic' box, a veggie box and a family box.

I went to Borough Market, near London Bridge, and bought a hare today.

The saddle is currently marinating in thyme, shallots and brandy, and will then be stuffed with morels and black garlic, before being roasted. I haven't cooked hare for years, so I hope I don't **** it up!

I did this for 3 hours at 300F with some store bought dry rub. I wanted it low carb so I omitted the sauce. Oh man!!!

get a smoker for max flavor!! :)   don't get me wrong though, i would tear those up.

Haha I do have a mini WSM but I've been so ******* lazy with it. I will definitely make something this Sunday though. To be fairly honest, I'm super new to it. I've only made two smokes on it.

Also I made this a few weeks ago. Thought it'd be interesting to post. Low carb pizza!

haha.  nice!  did you buy the WSM mini, or did you make one?  i'm actually going to try my hand at building one in the next week or two.  i have a charbroil vertical water smoker that has served its purpose, but it's starting to rust out at the base.  i probably got a good 30 smokes out of it.  not bad, since i paid $40 for it on Craigslist.  i'm probably going to do some babybacks on it this weekend.  :)  don't get discouraged by the smoking process.  it actually becomes really easy after you do it a few times.

pork butts are my favorite to cook on here.  also the turkey i smoked on it this past thanksgiving was the best turkey i've had.  it trumps oven roasted and deep fried turkey.

Trumping deep fried turkey is not an easy task.

that's exactly what i though.  i've had deep fried turkey probably for the last 5 years.  my brother talked me into trying to smoke one this year.  i had my doubts.  brined it over night, injected it and lightly dusted with a rub.  it turned out just as juicy, if not juicier, and with that wonderful smoke flavor that you can not get with an oven or frier.  i used apple and cherry wood.  it was an 18 pounder if i recall correctly.  everyone raved about it.  i don't think i'll ever deep fry or bake another turkey.

Hare part 2 tonight: casseroling the legs in the slow cooker. Serving up with mashed potatoes and sautéed morels.

Last night's saddle was just a little underdone, so I carved out the loin and gave it a little extra finishing in the frying pan. Ended up tasting very nice, but could/should have been better from the start. The morels and the black garlic were excellent.
