I've heard too many people say "veesta" recently.

where on earth do they get this idea?

can someone show me proof that it's either vistah, or veestah?

Me too, because in spanish it's said like that. It means "sight" or "view".

It's Vista, rhymes with pis*sed-uh or Mister.

I have a friend living in the US, working for MS and that's how he says it.

I think most Americans would pronounce it veestah.....as that's how it's pronounced in Terminator 2: Hasta la Vista, baby.

I guess when I pronounce Windows Vista, I don't stress the i as an e though.

Vista in Spanish (Veesta) is a completely different pronunciation and meaning from the English word Vista (viss-tuh). Considering their definitions, either one works, really.

I'd be interested in knowing Microsoft's preferred/intended pronunciation. I say Viss-tuh.

Of course, you can kill this debate and just continue to call it by it's beta name, Longhorn.
