have you updated to the latest version of red os (you can check at the bottom of the web page for updates)? at the top of the web page, there's a radio button to use either performance mode (one service at a time) or allow multiple services running at a time.

having said that, i haven't tested the multiple service option as i use the performance mode and selected either roon or hqplayer. i didn't mind going to the web page and selecting a service and pressing save. i understand that others would find that inconvenient.
Yes, latest version no problem. I know the dots at the top. The compatability mode is a riddle, it suggests simultaneous use but it isn't in the end 🤷🏻

@Alchemy1

Reboot NUC?
Does NUC appear in the network, with an IP?

If yes,
Press 'Need help finding your roon server?' I belief it was that which got me to 'select another server' or the likes, and hey there is was to choose from. Just an anecdote.
Thank you for the tips. I did not see those settings. When I click on the link for help finding my server, it takes me to Roon’s page where it walks through the 5 steps to get going.

I can find my Nuc on my network, but the Roon app doesn’t seem to find it. I tried to reset the ROCK software and reload the codec, but that did not work either.

Just spitballing here, but are you sure your Red and Rock are connected to the same network?

I had your problem before, somehow I got to the stage where I had to choose another server and presto there was my old server to choose as if it was a new one. I'll try to find that stage...

I had a case where Roon did not find my Roon-server.
It got stuck here:

I selected a different Roon server.

"Yes"
rn3.jpg

And there it found my good old trusty roon server that it seemed to forget for some reason.
So maybe you recognize something...

That’s definitely a good question. I only have one network and I’m also (now) trying to connect to my Nuc on my phone/ipad that’s in the same room with my main mesh access point so that should be a double check?

Is that page in the app itself? I cannot seem to see that option on any of my devices.

This is very weird. My laptop connects without issue and it’s on WiFi too. I just don’t want to use my big, and hot, laptop.

Hi again, after listening to hundreds of songs I’m absolutely sure JPlay sound better than Mconnect with Holo Red stock OS. More micro details, more air around instruments. I read this is due to less interactions between the controller App and the OS so there’s also an explanation. Now I have to investigate alternative OS like MoOde or Volumino to see if there’s more room for further improvement. Any recommendations really only based on sound quality.
