Sorry for that,

But, that means, HPQ NAA and gentoo player can be run at Holo Red?
Gentooplayer is the OS which have many stream protocol available to select and yes HPQ NAA is one of them. Gentooplayer is available for RPI4 which the Red is base on.

The serial number doesn't matter. It's just that if you upgrade to the latest version, you'll (temporarily) loose roon support.
Thx, I do not use roon so it should be fine for me.

I downloaded "HoloAudio Red-OS-20231221 (serial 2305 or higher)" firmware and working fine with Red serial less than 2305. I see option "Red Native Output", not sure what for?

Tidal still runs at 44.1KHz and 16 bit with new firmware.

so for each endpoint type (sqeezelite, tidal connect, etc.) you'll seen native and usb options. if you want to use the usb out, then pick the usb option. if you're using something else (optical, coax, etc.) then pick native. at least that's how i've been doing it.

I use only Spotify and Tidal, I do not get USB option for these and Native Output toggle between either Spotify or Tidal. What exactly is Native Output? did check manual it does not mention anything about Native.

Native Output is i2s, coax, optical, aes/ebu, bnc. You didn't see USB probably because your dac isn't connected with USB or is switched off or the dac input isn't on USB.

As I know Holo Red is based on CM4 module. If I use a generic CM4 with a linear power supply, is it have a similar SQ to Holo Red? I will only use USB and connect to DAC, no need for DDC part
the problem with CM4, there is no OS support Tidal connect, I used to use CM4 with volumio, PiCorePlayer, as Roon endpoint etc. and upgraded to Red, and it sounds better and easier to manage, you can just enjoy the music....
