Tidal connect only very recently added Max support (hi-res files). So the connect client on the red needs to be updated. Should be in a software update soonRed in streaming mode with Tidal Connect, I never get bitrate higher than 44.1KHz and 16 bits., when connected to Chord MScaler. Did try coax and toslink outputs from Red to MScaler and getting same result.
When I connect Laptop-> USB-> MScaler I get higher bitrate on same track.
Anyone has same issue?

Then bad for me, I do not have device with latest serial number and using older version of Red OS, Release 2023.04.15.
Which may never get an update.

I certainly hope that's not the case!

Why wouldn't it get an update?
Hope it will get an update, I was thinking new OS will get all the attention and updates.
The hardware didn't change...they messed up this serial number/version thing beacause of roon certification... And i said messed up because my unit late serial number (240124*****) came with the newer software and WORKED FINE and i accidentally erased my sd card and when i downloaded the "suitable" version for my device (although older than the version shipped with my unit) that SHOULD work, only works for 20 seconds and then the software force shut down the unit...that wrongly indicates that is a serial mismatch....BUT when i install older 2023.04.15 version with my new serial number that SHOULDN'T work, everything works fine and with roon support! That indicates that the hardware didnt change and they are right about it... Simply they messed up the serial numbers/versions.Hope it will get an update, I was thinking new OS will get all the attention and updates.
My guess is that when they solve roon certification problem all the units will use a common sortware version...
It seem Holo Red is using RPi compute 4 module with 2Gb RAM. Is it possible that I can replace another compute 4 module with 4 or 8Gb RAM? Is it worth to do that?
Would be of no benefit, none of what the RED is used for uses anything close to 2GB RAM anyway. It seem Holo Red is using RPi compute 4 module with 2Gb RAM. Is it possible that I can replace another compute 4 module with 4 or 8Gb RAM? Is it worth to do that?

yes, confirm enough at 2GB even if you use Gentooplayer ramdisk mode with only one streaming protocol enable. (which is recommended).
That's great, ramroot is one of my consideration. Meanwhile, can HQ NAA being modified using ramroot to run?yes, confirm enough at 2GB even if you use Gentooplayer ramdisk mode with only one streaming protocol enable. (which is recommended).

I don't quite understand what you mean by ramroot. Just know gentooplayer ramdisk. You can use HPQ NAA endable in gentoo player and set to ramdisk mode. it will be run in memory mode.
Sorry for that,I don't quite understand what you mean by ramroot. Just know gentooplayer ramdisk. You can use HPQ NAA endable in gentoo player and set to ramdisk mode. it will be run in memory mode.
But, that means, HPQ NAA and gentoo player can be run at Holo Red?
Does anyone use Tidal with Red? and noticed there is one older Red OS able to decode MQA, which all later versions are unable to do it?
is MQA decode be back later on?
Does anyone know where is their official website for firmware and OS? This is the only problem I have with Holo, they don't have an official support website or forums. would be good if they had one

Just wanting to let everybody know that Magna has posted on their download site a new firmware that also works for the older units. No roon ready though.
