I'm 48 and top out at about 16khz plus have a very noticeable dip around 6khz probably due to an accident as a kid

I'm 18, and I could hear 16k on this one http://www.audiocheck.net/audiotests_frequencycheckhigh.php and 15 k on this one http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/03/can-you-hear-this-hearing-test/

I had a lot of problems with my ears when I was younger,  having had more than 15+ middle ear infections, which has reduced my hearing substantially, combined with clubbing and concerts probably haven't done it better.

I'm 26 and can hear 20khz with relative ease (at high volume), but nothing at 21. Surprised, as I've been abusing my ears for years and have hearing damage on my left ear (decreased hearing.)

EDIT: Duh, I'm listening on a pair of LCD-2's, which cut off at 20khz.

I'm 22 and I can hear up to 22khz at normal listening volumes in my right ear but only up to 18khz in my left. Might be due to an ear surgery I had on my left ear when I was about 3 years old.

Man.. this is some pretty good statistics.. 20Khz is basically flawless ear drums and 17Khz is also dominant but for the people that listen to music loudly or has problems before etc. Hmmm I fall into the 17Khz too and im in my teenage years. Really interesting

I used the linked test with a DAC and amp and got some strange results:

AD700

18kHZ, 19kHZ, 20khz, 21khz OK
failed at 22khz

K702

Could not hear 19 or 20kHz, but 21 and 22 could be heard?!

HD-650

Couldn't hear 18, 19khz or 22khz, but 21 I could (LOL, what the....?)

DJ100

All the way up to 21kHz. Hardest one to hear was 19khz

BTW I'm 31 if that makes a difference.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if it's the W11R cutting me off at 21. Someone did mention that it had a roll off on the highest frequencies in sine wave tests.

I've had similar results as some of these guys where I can't hear anything around 19kHz, but then around 20-21 kHz I start to hear something again. At that point, I think it's more a sensation than actually hearing anything... like I feel the hairs on the back of my neck rising, but I can't actually hear sound.

I'm 19 years old, and I can hear18k.=[ I sort of hate it. In my younger teen years I went to to many shows without hearing protection, and now I've got a bit of tinnitus =[. I've always loved music, but now that I've got into high ish end audio especially I really regret not taking better care of my ears when I was younger.... =[

this is irrelevant, but the album from your profile pic is absolutely amazing.

I can easily here up to 17khz, above that turns from hearing it to more like sensing that there is a very high sound coming. This goes up to 19-20khz. Above that and I hear absolutely nothing, not even sense anything. I am 27 years old.

I could hear 19 khz at max volume, but 20khz was juuuuuust out of reach. I could definitely tell that there was a noise playing though, but mainly because there was a slight click when it started and stopped.

Something I've been wondering because of the general poll results and posts like this, I wonder how many people are putting the volume to insane levels just to hear the test tones that are normally out of their reach.
Even if you can't hear it loudly due to existing age related degradation/hearing damage, the sound is still there right? Running a really high pitched test tone like this at high volume surely can't be good for your hearing, just the thought of doing it frightens me.

Also, 19 khz at normal volume levels for me, age 26.
