HiFiMan Susvara

How much bass can susvara produce with the best amp possible? Is it able to give the same full bass as LCD 4 or sony Z1R ?
No, it can't match the bass volume of those two headphones. The Susvara's will get you better bass quality, definition, and layering with very good bass impact when amp properly.

If you want bass, the Abyss is the one for you. Susvara's bass is cleaner, but the overall upper chest warmth typer of bass with 2001 Space... is not at the level of the 1266. I think the Susvara has better bass than the Sony, not the LCD 4.

Woo refuse to talk about the numbers, I've asked many times and they always ignore the question
Crazy Woo....oooo hooooo lol :dt880smile: .
If it is 2 to 3W output as one Headfi member has suggested, this would only tickle the Susvara !

But that’s why people are using the WA23 as a pre to some power amps. I will get to listen to one someday.
FWIW. Others on this thread are smarter than me.

I've powered Susvara thru Woo WA22, Oppo HA-1 and Ifi Signature. All just didn't give the Sus lady what she wanted.

AHB2 - super transparent power amp -makes Sus sing with any of these amps as a pre-amp. Perfect tonality from the pre-amp stage rendered with the monster power to drive Sus. No change to the pre-amp tonality.

Just couldn't get happy with Susvara w/o the huge watts per channel power. Just MHO. It'll give you all the bass you want, as long as you feed it all the bass you can in the pre-amp stage.

Agree. It's up there with the best of the best when it comes to overall quality and quantity, but the TC (and I assume the LCD-4 based on impressions I've seen), and a few limited others will best it just as it relates to impact and perceived quantity. But when amped properly it is still very good in that regard and among the best overall (especially with accuracy and tightness).

If the 2A3 is in spec, I.e. The peak anode power is under 15W, it won’t be any more than about 3.2W, and it will probably be under 3.
That’s about the limit for a 2A3 in SE class A. The question becomes into what load, which has everything to do with the output transformer, 3W into 64 ohms might actually work well on the Susvara. 3W into 8 and <1 into 64 probably wouldn’t
I’ve heard others praise it on the Susvara.

For various reasons, I haven't listened to my Susvara very much in the past year, but decided to put them on yesterday night and started listening and didn't realize how late I was staying up! :D Woke up this morning, and have had it on my head most of the day so far, listening to the new Nickel Creek album. This headphone still does acoustic music so well. I love.

It's gotta be around 3W into 64 ohms but could possibly even be 3W into 32 ohms...

Susvara is my favorite headphone so far. Wondering what is a TOTL bookshelf speaker similar to the Susvara

Ok, so listening to it today, inspired me to finish my review of this headphone that I started 2 years ago, that I never got around to finishing and even forgotten I had a working draft already in progress.

Even 3 Watts into 64 Ohms is not a lot for the Susvara to shine.
