HiFiMan Susvara

I'm really curious about how much of an improvement the EF1000 is to any ordinary amp like Pro iDSD. BTW, what about the modes in the iDSD? I've not read much about it but you can select tube or solid state? Can it power the Susvara using tubes or what?

I’m talking about the Pro iDSD Dac not the Pro iCan amp. Even though the Pro iDSD has a Class A amp, it’s not even close to be powerful to drive the Susvara. However, Pro iDSD -> MHA100 -> Susvara is epic.

Anyone know if the Hugo 2 TT will be capable of driving the Susvaras alone?

Jude posted a video talking about how good the H2TT sounds driving his pair of Susvara. You should be good. I always prefer a one box solution like that.

Bro, you just got MHA150. H2 -> MHA150 not good enough for you? Pro iDSD is another significant upgrade.

Um... 9W SE, 18W balanced...

I would think so. :)

Those are for the analog outputs not headphone jacks. Would I have to get special cables then for the Susvara to utilize the analog output jacks?

“The best I have heard from the Susvara.” Is the quote.

Take it with a grain of salt. I doubt H2TT as a single box is better than Pro iDSD -> MHA100 or MHA150 in your case.

Power-wise I think so yes even through the headphone jacket (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't know about the match of the DAC.

EDIT: Sorry, late reply.

Thanks for the tip. I'm trying to get a demo of Susvara. The closest Hi-Fi store do not provide a demo since they don't have it in their stock. The avaibility seems to be quite limited. It seems like there is only a few in stock in whole Sweden. So a demo is not that easy. I think I can manage to get one if I travel to Stockholm though. Best way to do it would be trying out multiple amps such as the EF1000, Hugo 2, MHA100, a poweramp with HE-adapter and my own Essence III. It won't be easy to manage such demo. It's not just make a call and tell. Hey dude, I want try those, can I come over? I think I can though if I tell I have the cash for it there and then and want to make a decision. I could easily buy the HE-1 if I reach my long term business goals or the Susvara in little bit less than a year from now if I do no improvement.

I'm definitely curious about the Hugo 2 TT and M Scaler together, possibly outputed to the MHA-150 as a replacement for my Hugo2 if Moon Audio offers trade-ins. Albeit, the Auralic Vega I have available to my setup is a renowned DAC, and they are offering and trade-up option for their new G2 Vega which has network streaming capability.

How do you compare your 009S against the Susvara stack?

I’ll have to get back to you on that. Susvara is not at my current location at the moment.

18w at 8ohm. Means about 9w at 16ohm. Or 2.88w at 50 ohm. Doesn't sound enough power for the Susvara. But enough for almost every other headphone out there.

Wonder why Hugo TT2 lists the power rating at 8ohm. Makes the power rating look big. But not useful for headphone. The common figure is 16 or 32ohm.

You have Susvara in one location and 009S in another location? That's truly balla status. If I buy 009S on top of what I have, I'll be in a different location because my wife kicked me out.
