HIFIMAN SuperMini Impressions Thread

Unfortunately no, but I do have a whiplash twag V3 TRS cable. Which I will consider having it reterminated if the sound out of unbalanced is satisfactory.

Based on a post on Chinese forum, during prototype stage the SE846 is one of the reference IEM Hifiman used to reduce background noise of the supermini.

Mmmm...interesting.  My SE846 is already in TRRS due to ZX2, so I'm veeery interested in the Supermini.

If it is, I just got refunded for an IEM of basically the same cost by Aliexpress due to late delivery, so it's a bit easy to justify buying it. I'm also curious what IEM is included.

I just placed an order for the supermini, it's coming from HK to Melbourne, so expect a few days. I will have it with my se846 and mh335dw.

I have to say as I am a Chinese, it is rather unusual for supermini to get so less attention here.
It seems like Hifiman just forgot to advertise in the western market this time.

Please let us know what you think of the Supermini, if you like it, I suspect I'll be ordering one quite soon.  Been hoping to see it pop up on Amazon or something similar, but no luck as of yet.

A few very initial impressions, if somebody is interested.

The overall build quality is very impressive. Very rigid and sturdy, and has a bit of weight to it despite the incredibly small size. All buttons register just fine and there are no lose buttons.

The overall sound is rather laid-back. Has a nice depth and width to the soundstage. So far I find myself preferring the stock IEM.

Thanks for the pics and early impressions.

Had my eye on the Supermini due to the balanced output. I don't use iems so the hiss may not be an issue for me with headphones. Just waiting for the price to drop a bit.

Is the screen's brightness adjustable and does it come on every time you adjust the volume (or will it blind me at night like my Fiio E17's screen used to)?

Strange that the Supermini still isn't on Hifiman's site but I noticed on penonaudio.com that battery life is 22 hours!

Great if it gets anywhere close to that. Guess not having to display album art helps but I'm ok with that trade-off.

Btw, anyone know what chips it has internally?
