I still think this is the best sounding DAP Hifiman ever released, truly portable and sadly better than HM1000.

R2R2K is that and more I solved the battery runtime by picking up a small external powerbank with the same footprint as the R2R2K. Can forgive the player for it's limited battery life given the small size, power output and tremendous analogue sound signature

And improve firm- and hardware, BT codecs...I`d be in again, too! Form factor of R2R2000 is in deed fantastic!

I wouldn't know but maybe no so long as the amp section isn't changed and assuming the dac can feed at least 2vrm?

Suffice to say, you're not the first person here on Head-fi.org who'd like to see our DAP and perhaps one day we'll make one. And yes, micro iDSD Diablo isn't a pocket-sized product, so I fully understand why you now aim at R2R2K. All the best!

@kakalen, I honestly don't know if we'll ever will make any DAP, let alone those with R-2R inside. We're perfectly happy with DAC/amp devices, but who knows, maybe one day we'll make our own DAP

an ifi dap would be seriously awesome diablo has been my favorite source sound wise but the size was a big limiting factor, if ifi (haha) can dish out a dap with similar qualities (altho i won't expect nearly the same power output) that would be one hell of a device.

It is tempting, but lots of users into portable audio like to use DAPs as easy to use transports for separate DAC/amps. But hey, we never say never

Hi Giles, sorry just the cable from Anker the battery is from a local shopping chain (Asia) it's footprint is just about the same as the R2R2K's and adding 5000mAh to the players capacity. TBH I'd rec to just measure the R2R2K and source a battery from a reputable outlet.
