Im enjoying it already. The standard card is veiled in some way, like somebody else mentioned it with the balanced card and the fitear monitors. Sq-wise the iem card improves in all aspects, tighter bass, no hiss of course and being ultra clear.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it! The IEM card has a nice sense of space, while capturing all the delicate nuances of the music you play on the 901. For me, after listening on the IEM amp card, the balanced amp card sounds a bit unpolished and indelicate. Of course, the balanced amp card is quite something else with balanced headphones or IEMs.

Received my 4th 901 today after experiencing several issues, the latest of which was that the HO didn't work.  I'm happy to say that so far the new 901 seems to be working well (at least with my IEM card), with none of the issues that I experienced before: defective volume wheel, channel imbalances that appeared to be related to the balanced/normal switch and the HO out issue.  Hopefully I finally hit the jackpot.

I loved the sound when it worked, so I figured it was worth sticking with it.  And all along they were very responsive to my issues, so that gave me confidence that they'll stand behind their product.  Now, if I have to go for a 5th unit it could be a different story!

Its quiet heartwarming to hear of both customer loyalty, and good customer service these days.

If only their QC was as good as the after sales service.

Having been to the assembly line, I saw many checks and rechecks for QC and functioning.

It didn't help frankrondaniel much ...

My HM-901 has been working fine all along. That being said, I waited buying my unit until the reports about the wheel falling off faded away, and I had my brother (who lives in China) check it before he took it to me in Europe.

Now if HiFiMan also got the UI (specifically the tags) straightened out, then I would be (close to) completely satisfied  with it.
