Agree.

If a product is well designed and constructed then you should never be ashamed of its origins.

Nankai,

Thanks for the enlarged artist rendition images. Can you include real photographs and maybe include an iPod or pencil in the shot? A picture is worth a thousand words!

Built-in amp is unneeded; or follows its own path.

Does anything follow such hopes beyond getting an ultra-portable notebook with a portable DAC and/or amp.

Or should I just carry this around in my pocket?

ScreenPlay 500GB Hard Drive Portable Media Player for only $130, nice! Too bad it's 4lbs, has no battery and doesn't read flac.

Would it be smart to use this as my DAC to feed a RSA Emmeline B52 balanced headphone amp which is feeding a pair of Sennheiser HD800's?

I guess for stationary use you would be better off with something that uses a state-of-the-art professional AKM or Cirrus Logic DAC/CODEC, like an RME or Echo AudioFire sound card.

Cirrus Logic makes better DAC's than Burr Brown?

D10 is designed and made(and make) in China and highly regarded. DarkVoice amp is another example. PK1 is another example.

Lots of Nokia phones are now made in China.

Try them and make your own conclusions.

Cheers
