HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama

I hope as the HE-6 SE v3 and get us some of that 6 screw magic bass impact....
I LOVE my V2, but it really does need bass boost. I would be up for buying a V3 with some bass.
But not at $1,800.00 though.

The boost the v2 needs is trivial IMO - +3.5 db from 45 Hz down does it. Much over that, its just bass boom coloration land.

But even at +20 db, both SE models lack the insane impact of the 6 screw, and similarly the Phi. You CANNOT create impact with a heavy hand on the EQ - just color the upper bass/lower mids, make bass instruments bleed into each other, and blow the speed of response and stopping of the note.

I have suggested before (not meaning you I mean severe bass heads) that they buy a subwoofer to run summed under their seat to get the sensation without the amusical bloat.

Are there any leaks about V3?
Not that I have heard. HFM may not, since it probably hurts sales of Arya and above a bit, then again that never seems to stop them.

With the iFi Pro iCAN, there are three levels of bass boost. The top level is unusable, IMO. Level one is great with just about any headphone unless it is super bassy to begin with.

Level two, or the mid level, is strong bass boost and can make many headphones too thumpy. However it can make the V2's Very exciting. It was the same with the T60 Argons and the Nectar Bees.
Having said that it can be pretty satisfying just on level one.

A bit of trivia with regards to the iFi: IME, the 3D effect was very hit and miss (mostly miss) for quite a while. Just last summer/fall I realized that the 3D effect was really meant for planar's. For me, 3D is awesome with any planar and really opens them up. Especially the Bee's by Nectar Sound. I have no idea why.

Based on how adorama has dropped the v2 price to insanely low levels I can’t imagine how hifiman will price a v3. It would have to be the next coming of the he-6 with improvements to have me consider their OG $1700-1800 price.

Custom Cans UK
I love the convenience of the modular cables and they sound fine to me. I do love to hop around from amp to amp.

Of course with these headphones I only use one amp though.
