I started to use the Singxer SA-1 as a pre-amp instead of a passive one for my two Parasounds Zamps v3 and it makes a pretty nice addition. The Sa-1 got rid of the small noise from using the pre-amp, increased their dynamics, and soundstage. If you are using a stereo amp for the He6, then you may want to use a headphone amp instead of a passive pre-amp.

the hybrid hifiman headband does work with the v2. sundara headband works to, which is the exact same thing as the replacement hybrid. I've seen it done

It's not powerful enough. It's only around 4w at 50ohms. It distorts in high gain like most headphone amps do.

4w @ 50ohm is more than enough unless the amp has topology problems.

A nice class A or class A/B amp pushing 2.5-3w at 50 ohm is already more than enough

Ok I just received my Schiit Jotunheim 2 amp and will be testing it with my HE6SE. But after only a couple of songs so far it's definitely providing a better sound over the Asgard 3, since it's more powerful.
