If you're a function over form kind of person, you can also create a really comfortable leather suspension strap for just the cost of some scrap leather and a couple minutes. If you split off the leather at the ends like I did, you need about 8 5/8" between the cuts for a comfortable fit at max headband extension.

I just tried a similar construction for my heddphone but it didn't work for me as that extra layer took too much room and I needed to pull the cups over my ears with pure brutality which wasn't comfortable at all.

Yeah if you've got a big head and are already at max extension, it might not work for you. You really don't need very much clearance between the top of the leather strap and the headband though, just a millimeter or 2.

Audeze Carbon is absolutely worth it if you're a HE-6 nut. Best comfort, weight distribution and general weight anyway.

I unfortunately can't find a yoke kit or I'd do it on my own

Where are you located? No Audeze dealer in your country/area?
If you're in the US write Bloom Audio a mail or The SourceAV.

Bear in mind that general availability has been pretty grim so far, regarding Audeze kits, pads etc.

I don't think the weight difference between the headbands would be very noticeable when the headphones weigh nearly 500 grams, much more about weight distribution in my experience, but ymmv.

I have contacted around 13 different dealers so far with either no response or being told they can't sell me one, that includes bloom

Hopefully it'll get better over time. I'm still waiting for the Carbon to get restocked. Hasn't happened in many months. The whole stock situation is pretty bad.
