Obviously you can leave them playing without listening, this is how I usually do, but from time
To time in the burn in session, I listen them. Can’t help myself
Really excited for my HE1000se to arrive tomorrow. I currently own Susvara, HE1000 Stealth, and Arya Organic. Susvara is my favorite headphone overall, and I'm really excited to see how HE1000se compares. I'll likely be getting rid of Stealth and Organic because of it. Can't wait to try it on my Cayin HA-300 MK2
Very glad the HE1000se shares Susvara's wood veneer coloring as well.
Now I get why many love the HE1000 stealth, i'm actually loving it more than the HE1000SE, weird right? I didn't expect this at all.
Don't know why but I think the HE1000 stealth has the best timbre of all hifiman's I tried, even better than the Organic.
Organic lacked the soundstage, depth and width compared to the HE1000 stealth which has wider and taller stage.
It has the same stage of the HE1000SE but to my ears the HE1000 stealth does a tad better in terms of clarity and transparency.
I know the SE is better on paper and should be technical superior, but I think my brain just prefer the timbre of the HE1000 stealth.
I guess i'm in love with the HE1000 stealth now, what a archievement this headphone is, good job Hifiman. I think I found my endgame
That's interesting to hear, but if makes me wonder if HE1000se will scale a bit better on higher end source gear. Can't wait to compare the two tomorrow once HE1000se arrives

Yes, this (along with the darker headband), makes the SE "look" more expensive than the V2, even though it would seem a relatively trivial difference (and probably very little difference in manufacturing costs).

Im also running HEK stealth through the mojo 2 > Cayin Ha-3a. I think that the mojo 2 is really good for its price. It has more than enough power for the HEK stealth. Getting amp close to its price would be more of a side grade than an upgrade. I would save up and get something more expensive than an EF400 and use the mojo 2 as a DAC for it to be worthwhile.
I auditioned the HEKS on the Mojo 2 and Violectric gear, which made me buy a Violectric amp, and strongly consider a Mojo 2 or a R2R DAC.
IMO it's a great combination
Are very slight imperfections in the aluminum housing HE1000se a common thing? Mine just arrived new in box and there are two or three places where the aluminum finish looks a bit off. Almost scraped, just slightly imperfect. I didn't notice this with Sus, but have heard this can happen from time to time. Not a big deal, just curious.
