Did the Upgrade offer from Hifiman and trade my Arya V3 against the HEKV2. I'm so excited.

Will power it with D10B/Monolith THX 887.

Now patiance and waiting. Round about 2 Werks without good headphones.

Imo, use what you got, and see if you enjoy the music.

I have powered the HeKV2, with a Shanling UP5, M8, Schiit Lyr 3, and Singxer sa1. They all sound a bit different but good in their own way.

The lyr3 with a nice tube already offers a very holographic soundstage.

Don't let others tell you this headphone has to have X amount of current or waltage to sound awesome.

Really depends on what sound signature you are looking for.

I have used the HE1000 v2 with multiple amps and dacs. Since it is so resolving, I found it paired really well with my Naim Uniti Atom HE and GSX Mini. Naim seems to calm it down a bit in terms of sound signature, and the GSX mini brings the clarity.

I always look at the sound signatures (and reviews for key sound descriptions) of the components and then compare that to the sound signature of the headphone. For example, you would not want to pair a bright dac, with a bright amp, with a bright headphone. Or the same with all dark components as well.

In the rig I am using, I would categorize them as Naim (Dark), GSX Mini (Bright), HE1000 (Neutral/Slightly Bright). That way they all even each other out. Make sense?

A used Burson Soloist 3x and a Violectric 280 has appeared in my local market.
Which one would be a better pairing for the Hekv2?

I would definitely choose the Violectric

Thursday I had the opportunity to make a direct comparison between the HE-1000 V2 and the ZMF Verite.
Both set to Oratory, of course
(I guess I don't need to say that again.)

I like the ZMF. I like the look
and the wearing comfort is divine.
In terms of sound, however, the HiFiMAN plays in a different league.
This offers more transparency, more resolution, more speed, more slam, and a larger stage.
In some tracks he was even more punch than the Verité.

The Verite are great headphones, no question about it.
However, I must emphasize one more thing: he has a propensity for sharpness!
Whether female voices or violin.
This is an absolute no go.

So I jump straight to the V2:
although as already mentioned, these have more resolution, transparency and speed, it never gets sharp or aggressive.
Once again confirmed, this Hifiman is an absolute stroke of genius!

I agree about the he1000 V2 having slam. It's not over done but it's definitely there when it's called for like in daft punk or aphex twin they sound incredible without being boomy at all. To me it seems just right. It may have something to do with the a90d having 9.8 watts of output.

I'm pretty disappointed right now that hifiment doesn't offer an upgrade program...

What? I just did the Arya V3 --> HEKV2
I also did that.
That was a very good decision.
In my opinion, the Arya V3 is Not the little brother of the HE-1000 V2.

I'd wait and try to hear it before upgrading. There do seem to be those who prefer the V1 and V2 Arya over the Stealth Magnets version. Also, this new Stealth Magnet model is probably why Hifiman was clearing out the previous stock of V2's at 2000, so that might be why the aren't offering an upgrade avenue.

Did you ask hifiman directly about the upgrade? They might be willing to do something? I'm not sure.

There is no question, that I am acting in a completely hasty manner here.
The V2 is simply divine. The way he is.
But i liked Arya V3 much better than V2.

If it's not on HiFiMan official store, I don't think it's an legit model. Doesn't HE1000SE already mean Stealth Edition? What's the point of having a V2 stealth?
Entirely different tuning (assuming no real changes,) entirely different sensitivity, likely slightly less detail and more forgiving. It isn't available for sale yet, but is on their website (likely by error posting prior to official release)

https://hifiman.com/products/detail/327

I'm curious how it will be received sonically vs the HE1000V2.
