That is right. That is actually why I told HiFiMAN it should not have been called Beta Test but something like "Field Evaluation". These units are production level units and they were not expecting any major changes before rolling them out to the market.
The term beta has been perverted over the years. At one time, beta really did mean "pretty much done and now need an external field evaluation" - at least in software development. For some reason, people think beta testing means alpha testing. But alpha testing is alpha testing. In the end, who cares. Just word games on the Internet. If HFM called it a field evaluation, some idiot here would have decided that it should have been properly called a beta test. BTW, HFM did catch a thing (or two) during this beta test.
