I second the Dekoni Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin pads. I use them with all my phones.

I really like the Schiit Lokius. No band is boosted or dumb more than 10-15% (most under 5%), but that makes all the difference with my HEkS. I think it's more about compensating for my own aging hearing, than perfecting the headphone.

I start with these settings, and alter them to my preferences. The frequencies don't perfectly match the Lokius, but it's a start.

Anybody tried the ZMF pads with He1000 Stealth?
Looks like their fenestrated lambskin might be the one.

I know this question has been asked several times but anyone know what speaker makers would be the closest equivalent to Hifiman sound?

I’ve been listening to my KEF LS50W2 more than my headphones lately.

IMO my headphones rig sounds better than the KEFs (and they should considering the system costs) but now I’m left wondering how good soundstage can get with speakers vs headphones.

I’ve read some comments regarding headphone soundstage as irrelevant. I disagree because one of the biggest reasons I’m a Hifiman fanboy is due to their stage width.

The KEFs sound larger as obviously the transducer is larger but I’m actually listening to them in my cramped room lol.

So they’re only 3 feet from the wall and about 3 feet apart.

TLDR; anyone suggest any speakers that approach a Hifiman sound?

Speakers are another story. Tough question because your room will be the key here.

I'm a HUGE Hifiman fanboy too. I like that V-shape and wide soundstage with great but well controlled treble.
I have the Elac Solano BS283. For bookshelves, bass goes deep (43hz apparently). Add a paradigm subby and wow!!! Treble is just amazing with their ribbon tweeters and for me soundstage is just amazing. For their price, I think they punch well above!!!

I wasn't really planning on upgrading to the HE1K Stealth, but a great opportunity presented before me. I originally bought an Arya Stealth from our local go-to headphone shop; unfortunately, the left driver died out of nowhere. The shop offered me two options: either I wait for the replacement from Hifiman (which will take at least 2-3 months) or just pay the price difference between the Arya Stealth and the HE1K Stealth. I initially hesitated to listen to the HE1K Stealth (because I really wasn't planning to upgrade) but after hearing it, I knew right away that getting a pair would be the only logical choice.

All I can say is...I think I've reached my headphone endgame (unless I suddenly with the lotto and can afford to pay for the Susvara entry fee). I can't express my happiness enough for making the upgrade!

Has anyone tried the Stealth with a midrange DAP?
I was thinking to buy the iBasso dx180, not sure if it has enough power on balanced connection.
How many watts? Ive tried them on a few kind of lower power amps like 2w @32Ohm and they sounded good.
They do improve with higher powered gear, though.
