Anyone try the R10P with the R2R bluemini? I’m wondering if if smoothes out the sometimes harsh upper mids?
I use 4.4mm Bal on the go and XLR Bal at home. But like you said single ended is good also. I use that when using on bedroom setup.Hi there ! The HFM HE-R10D can take a balanced out cable right ? With the SE cable things sound fine and then when I use my Ananda Nano 4.4" cable there is a channel imbalance with the right channel quieter..is this some unexpected QC/production side effect due to the port that is meant for the Bluemini II causing issues ? Tried it on 3 amps same issue.
Edit : reversing the cables into the can - still has the quietness on the right driver.
Cheers !
What I was getting at is that there is an issue going balanced with my set of cans - so I assume I have a wonked can - since you are not reporting channel imbalance using 4.4" or XLR.I use 4.4mm Bal on the go and XLR Bal at home. I don’t have any channel imbalance going on. I’m currently listening to the HE-R10P Stealths at this time portably. What I was getting at is that there is an issue going balanced with my set of cans - so I assume I have a wonked can - since you are not reporting channel imbalance using 4.4" or XLR.
It's the D model I have.I don’t have any channel imbalance going on. I’m currently listening to the HE-R10P Stealths at this time portably.
Sorry, i thought they were the P. But should still work the same. Contact Hifiman and they should be able to fix the channel imbalance issue. Who knows maybe let you upgrade to the HE-R10P Stealths at their current pricing. That would be a major upgrade in sound quality. It's the D model I have.
Unusual thread with the D and P rubbing shoulders in the same space !
I also have the same issue. I own five dual 3.5mm cables, and all of them have one side louder (the lef one) than the other. Interestingly, this issue seems to vary depending on the amp. When plugged into the Schiit Magni, it doesn't happen (or maybe it's there, but I didn't notice). When plugged into the Qudelix, it happens but to a lesser extent. However, when plugged into DAC/amps like the K11 R2R or xDuoo MH-02, the imbalance becomes very noticeable. On the other hand, the stock cable doesn't have this issue regardless of the amp it's connected to :-oIt's the D model I have.

Yep, I tried various amps..same result... the R10D is in my rearview mirror...no time for finding out the repair or replacement has the same issues.I also have the same issue. How about the synergy...reason I'm looking at 10P is I can use purely a DAC/and tube hybrid with it and dispense with a desktop set-up...I'm dying to give the 10p a whirl with my transportable set-up..am going for something slightly more euphonic/lush than my old Cayin C9...
Testing out the Transportable setup today. Replaced the Cayin C9 with the C9II.
The C9II with the following settings will accomplish just that.
Looks fantastic..true desktop class that can be taken away from home. The C9II with the following settings will accomplish just that.
Anode: H
Gain: H
Timber: C
Mode: Hyper
NFB: On
I use my C9II in preamp mode allowing volume to be controlled by the Hugo 2.
That’s the whole point. I travel away from home a lot. So I need something to keep me entertained when on the road. This setup makes the perfect companion.Looks fantastic..true desktop class that can be taken away from home.
