So my search for a replacment headband in the UK is not going too well

Analogue seduction have no stock of the Hifiman Comfort

I can find an Audze headband but not the yokes - look at the shipping cost to get them from Audeze:

That one only includes rods, you'll need the "yoke-kit"

Looks like they are sold out, and have been for months..

Then Aliexpress would seem like the best choice.

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOOefes (looks like the Original headband)

https://a.aliexpress.com/_msiVoKG (Looks even more like the original, not sure why it is so pricey, could be of better quality?)

Similar to HE6se v1 headband

IIRC Audeze stopped selling the yokes, I'm assuming so people couldn't use them for modding other brands (or some other reason that I don't know.) You can only buy the rods these days from Audeze. The only way to get a full Audeze headband assembly these days is to poach it from a pair of headphones, which is not ideal.

Other options would include

https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/original-headband.html (to replace the original one)

https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/the-newly-enhanced-comfort-headband.html (by popping out the screw recepticle in the headphones, using the knobs on the headbands yokes)

or

an Audeze-like type from Aliexpress (make sure you get the right size for your cups.)

Thank you

Having to use SR60's, bit of a shock after 13 years with the HE6!

Well I just thought an update would be useful in case anyone in the UK/EU needs a headband

I ordered the original HE6 headband from Hifiman US (online) and had it shipped to a forwarder in the US who have already shipped to me. An open box EF400 may have got in there as well!. They put values of $20 and $120 on which will certainly help with import duties

Today Hifiman have got back to me and said that there is no UK or EU stock of the headband

I did also order an Audeze headband from a UK supplier 2 weeks ago who had them at reduced price (£49.98) - gone back up now :frowning2:

Have you taken the old yokes off the cups yet? Be super careful, those HE6 screw will strip if they are in the same room as a screw driver, I’d use the smallest driver head I could find. And still be prepared to strip them and have to get a stripped screw extractor. I swear those screws are made of mercury.

The original replacement headband is fine, but it’s a bummer you lose the HE6 badges. Good luck!

I've seen someone use a rubber band between the screw driver tip and the screw head is it's getting stripped. Haven't tried it myself. But getting the correct size and type of screwdriver is always important :)

Good luck.

@Sebbai , any tips here?

Ok the headband has arrived - it looks rubbish compared to the original, the finish on the yokes (which OK I wasn't planning on using) and the chrome is appaling, the headband material is horrible as well

Now I am trying to undo this screw on the new yokes - when i turn the blade it just spins and the top of the bolt is just round so there is nothing to grip (I have tried with my fingers)

I found these to be fantastic for gripping screws: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002L6HJAA

Not sure if you can use something like that to grip the top part and get them apart. Worst case scenario you're using the replacement yokes.

I agree that the replacement headbands are garbage compared to the original headbands. Mine failed spectacularly at the round plastic portion so there was no recovering them. The good news is the headphones sound the same with garbage headbands or nice headbands. :)
