And at least it started with the HE560. Besides, some say to pair wine with cheese, I say why not pair wine with a good headphone?

Pair up the HE560 with some nice music and a beer. You wont be taking them off until you are drunk.

That would have to be some good strong beer. Not that Cali ipa junk though. Yuck , except Pliny . Killing a duchess de Bourgogne tnite and some franzikaner weissbier. To stay on topic, with the he560. Then maybe an absinthe drip.

Good bourbon or some nice 100% rye whiskey and ginger hits my sweet spot.

Interesting what all of you drink when listening to the HE-560, sorry for getting it a little off track

If we have to pair the HE-560 with fancy beverages every time we listen to them, you can easily go broke :p

Excessive alcohol consumption generally leads to some degree of temporary auditory deprivation in most individuals. On the bright side, with any luck you will probably pass out long before a quality headphone starts sounding like Beats Studio.

Recently purchased these for home listening. I'm driving these using a Bifrost Uber/Lyr 2 w/ Orange Globe tubes. I find myself having to turn up the knob on high gain to the 3 or 4 o clock position when listening to classical music. I've gone as far as all the way on certain passages. I would have expected more headroom. All my sources are at 100% volume.  For other musics, the noon to 1 position is fine, but classical seems more demanding.. Also i get more noise than i'd like.  Let me know your thoughts.

The volume knob on my Lyr2 is at 1-2 o'clock position for most genres of music, with classical its usually between 2-3 depending on the recording.
Tubes currently installed are Siemens Lorenz gold pins.

Not to far from your setup.
