Thanks for the link. Appears others may have had the same issue. What's weird is that I've had these for a few months now and never noticed any static popping. Last week I changed the pads to Focus-A pads and thats when it started. Changed back to original pads and the static popping still occurs. Not a constant thing, mainly when I first put them on or move them on my head and mainly when listening to them in a carpeted room. Yesterday I was listening to them in a room with wood floors and nothing. Very strange.

Depending on where you're located, the colder weather may have an effect (and may explain why this has started only recently for you).  The lower humidity, due to colder weather, increases the amount of static electricity.

That's a good and interesting point. I'm in New Jersey where its gotten colder over the last few weeks. Just started using the HE560 again last week. Was using other headphones prior to last week in warmer weather.

Gents,
What is your best am with he-560? I sold gustard h10 and got burson soloist which is perfect with fostex th900 but terrible with 560. He560 out of eximus dp-1 is somewhere close to where it was with h10 but not as good.

Now im trading off between selling he560 to get lcd2 or get another amp for he560

Does anyone know where to get cheap focus-a pads or used ones? $40 seems a bit too much for pads.

edit: sorry I thought I read Focus pads, now I see you want Focus-a pads.

If you can source the mounting clips (older pads have them removable) here are pads for $25: http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Hybrid-Memory-Foam-Earpad/dp/B00ZGGG3KY

Big mistake imo. I sold my lcd & kept 560. Detail and imaging is much better on 560. Any violectric amp, & don't know what your source is, multibit transforms these things into beasts. I've got hd800, &t1 & these get the most head time.

I really enjoy the 560's (balanced) with the Bryston BHA-1.

Testing out the Focus pads from the Focus-A pads. It appears that whatever you gain in low-end authority with the Focus-A you lose in spacial dynamics that are afforded with the Focus. What are you guys/gals hearing?

I am hearing...have heard, the stock focus  pads were too harsh form me. I changed to the Focus A pads, I felt no loss in "spatial Dynamics" (whatever that is) Assuming that relates to "Sound Stage".. no loss here.
Just much more listenable, non-fatiguing overall tonality. It goes without saying all of the IMHO, YMMV, stuff. I also did not hear any bass or sub-bass (the last doesn't happen for me with headphones in any case). differences...

Complete opposite. If anything, I found the Focus-A to improve soundstage while leaving imaging about the same.

With the 4.5khz section a bit subdued (Focus-A) the sound opens up in soundstage and imaging.

Focus pads with that section forward puts too much right up against the ear in sound.

Preferences are all over, I think focus-a has a slight edge hence HF keeping the pads around.
