No, you didn't miss anything.

I wonder why this is? Maybe a European sale will come. Or, perhaps the North American stock (I think they stock in the US) was very high and they needed to move some units quickly and in good numbers.

I suspect that they are trying to move the old stock in preparation for the update with TRS connectors.

Could be, but still odd that only NA would have old stock. Only HFM really knows.

hello guys, any pictures on what the updated connectors look like? inside pics?  I would like to check what connectors they used..I think I can DIY this as long I got the right 2.5mm female jack..it's 2.5mm right not 3.5mm?

based on the pic on a 400i..it looks like a generic 2.5mm mono and they didn't replace the housing..the shape where the connector is still hexagonal..however I want to see what's inside..and I am having some trouble finding 2.5mm mono female jacks..I can see some in alibaba or something but they need huge orders lol

Fairly certain that it is TRS, which is necessary for balanced operation. I'll confirm later today once I my HE-560 is delivered.

Very tempted to get in on this to complement my LCD-2F.  I just hope the Lyr 2 would be a good match for the HE-560's.  I also wonder if the models being sold for Black Friday have the new connectors or not.

I'm leaning towards agreeing with the speculation that others have put forth further up in the thread. It could be an inventory clearout, which would mean the sale ones are the ones with the old coax connectors and not the new 2.5mm connectors.

Are the old connectors that bad?  I honestly don't mind if they aren't that annoying since I don't really change my cables too often.  I do hate it when wires get tangled though.
