@money4me247, cool. No for me the overall tonal balance. detail retrieval and texture of bass matters more than pure quantity or quality of the bass taken on it's own so the 560 sounds like a better fit. As of late I have not had the chance to listen to the 560s much, but every time I do I am really glad that I took the plunge and picked them up. Plenty of detail, nuance, speed and texture in a sound signature balance that works for me with every genre I throw at them. Still need to get my speaker taps made as I have a feeling my NAD M3 will make them sing. The A18 is freaking wonderful, and if I didn't have my M3 sitting there I wouldn't even be thinking about trying something else as the A18 is just doing it for me.

I also didn't really like the O2 with the 560, there was just something weird in the treble/upper mids, and it didn't seem very engaging. Maybe a tube amp would help it. I was much more impressed with the Alpha's on the same source / amp setup, so maybe that's just my taste.

It's not jus SS, I tried the Meier's Stack Saturday with the 560's and a Alpha Dogs and it sounded fantastic. I think it's more of the quality of the SS Amp.

Paulo, Bro!!!! Out of the shadows, counting down for the SkyAwsomness, how are you doing?

Also listened to my modded 560's with some Audi-GD, Alo, Bryston, this past weekend. The 560 scales well, not a bad match among them, just different perspectives, close to an "everyman's" can!!!

Cheers!:beers:

Did you have a favorite match, or do you still like the Lyr2 the most?

I really liked the Meier "Corda" (?) Amp a lot, tighter, though less extended bass. A bit tighter, but still excellent stage and smooth, extended treble. I didn't think that I would like the BH-1, but in balanced it was also an excellent combination, the Theogene's First Watt Clone with a Norne Balanced connection, was I. A different league for control. Still want to try some Audio-GD stuff, Ragnarok, Mojo, and some of the TOTL Gear, but could live and love my Lyr 2 for a long time.

For avid modders, look forward to a writeup of my HE560 modding compilation in a few weeks' time (hopefully).

Nice, thanks for the hard work as always.
