^ What do you think about the Valhalla 2 and 560? I owned a Valhalla first gen that I used with my HF2 and DT 880 and HD 650. I liked it very much with all of those headphones.

Ray,
What is the sound benefit of the cable to your ears?

Believe it or not, I've never run them together. I've also got a little dot mk.iii and that was not a good match. I strictly use my violectric hpa v90 with the 560's. Just got a bit frost multibit and that combo is sublime.

Just got a great deal on some 560's from a fellow Head Fi'er. Haven't spent much time with them, but I think they're going to compliment my LCD 2F's nicely.

Currently running them off of a H10. Is there any other amps known to pair really well with the 560? Maybe a hybrid tube amp so I can use some of my tubes from my BH Crack?

Yulong A18. I had to sell this amp a while back as my wife was adamant that i had too much useless stuff (sob). This is the most sublime pairing i have ever heard, period.

These headphones are beautiful.

I never fully agreed with any previous offerings with Hifiman, including the HE-6 and the HE-1000.
Both offered respectable TOTL tastes, however, I ultimately ending up returning both.

The HE-560 just manages to do everything well.
It makes listening enjoyable, to where I don't pay attention to how the headphone sounds--instead, I'm listening to how good the music sounds.

The bass is amazingly tight, impactful, and possesses so much air.

That's quite an endorsement.  Out of curiosity, with what did you drive the HE-6?

I'm enjoying my HE-560 as I type

Well, to be fair the HE-1000 did do multiple things better than the HE-560.
But in terms of the HE-6 vs HE-560, one could be happier with either.

I'm not going to go into details, since I've long sold off my HE-6 and kept the HE-560 as my daily headphone :)

Oh, I utilized a Resonnessence Concero HP and a First Watt F3 Speaker Amp to drive the HE-6's when I had them. More than enough juice.

The HE-6 was amazing when it came to providing a black background. It also is (in my opinion) the best imaging headphone that Hifiman ever made.

Ultimately I found the HE-560 more pleasing to my ears. As well as being 10x more comfortable.

Well, different strokes, and all that. Haven't heard the HE-6, have the 560 and the 1000. Since I got the 1000, almost never use the 560, be selling them one of these days. Loved it when it was my best headphone, but the HEK pretty much outdoes it in every category, to my ears (as it should...it is 3 times more expensive). I do find the 560 more comfortable, though.

Just noticed that HE-560 also pairs well with the JDS Labs - The Element.

Yeah, I said the HE-1000 does a lot of things better than the 560.

However, it's nowhere near worth it for the asking price.

Especially since the SR-007 sounds better to my ears in every category for way less.
