Depending on my needs in terms of DAC upgrading and how my testing of the Sony Z7 go, I may sell my 560, but only if needed! There is no way the Z7 competes with the 560; however, as I use speakers a great deal if I really climb into a higher tier of DAC (which I have wanted to try) I may be forced to sell the 560 so I'll let you know if this happens or not. Not sure, really love my 560s, depends on the DAC upgrade bugs power!

I'm 100% there if you ever decide to let go of them

If not, I definitely understand wanting to keep this beauty.

I officially love the HE-560. Out of the 4 headphone amps I have (3 built in)- all SS except the Lyr (tube pre, SS Amp), the Lyr is the best.

Well, google Gustard X12.
I had it for the standard price of ~550$.
Worth every penny. Same status as my SA31SE for now :D

I might be selling mine as well, I love it but i want to upgrade to something even better. If you're in Toronto or close to Toronto, we can do a easy peasy buy with no shipping nonsense.

Well then, folks, will be heading off to CanJam late this evening, and hopefully, I'll have enough time to compare an uber modded HE-560 against the HE-1000.

Will also be posting some instructions and measurements (finally!) of my modded HE-560 soon... so stay tuned!

Time to show the world what a modded HE-560 can do!

Interesting, have fun and I'm looking forward to reading about your mods.

If i decide to not sell my 560s, I would be pretty interested in recupping them.  Do you have instructions to do so or would you be willing to mod it for me? For a fair price of course.

Oppo BDP 105D: clean, good separation, not quite enough power for wide dynamic range. Denon DRA 635 R (1992) same as Oppo but better dynamic range, very bass heavy- even in tone neutral position, YamahaRVX 657 2005 clean-runs out of power. Lyr: POWER, best soundstage and imaging- more "real" sound as compared to live symphony. Perhaps some Edge on loud trumpets, etc with stock tubes. Well regarded vintage tubes on way

which 4 amps?

Ha, I am in Toronto and I am selling mine too. It seems that HE-560 and Toronto just don't go well together!

The other reason I can think of is "He-560 + Woo Audio WA6" in your signature. I was driving mine with Woo Audio too (WA7) and I didn't like the overly deep soundstage. The lows are colourful, the highs are fine, but the mids are just not there. It's either WA7 is not powerful enough or it needs a better DAC to fill HE-560.

It can also be just a matter of personal preference or the music I generally listen to. Whatever it is, HE-560 is definitely a demanding instrument and I am not ready for it :frowning2:
