Hifiman has reached out and I'm expecting my fourth pair of headphones by next week. Hopefully all goes well and the FOURTH pair is decent. We'll see. Thanks Peter.

Good luck, this one will probably come with an armed escort to ensure its care and safety.

You should ask for pics of the headphone being shipped to see if it's the shipping company creating damages. 3x is just too coincidental to be 3x bad units out of the factory when a lot of people got theirs in good repair the 1st time.

Its like, trying 3 brand new sets of tires and having them all go flat on the commute to work. Could be the road you're driving and the construction site you keep passing...just a thought

Help!

I have LCD2.2 and love it. Except it's too heavy for long sessions.

How does the 560 compare in SQ to 2.2? Bass, musicality, treble.

I listen to a lot of classical music. Amps are in my profile.

Thanks!

If you love the LCD 2.2 for classical music, you either:
- Have a very bright setup
- Don't hear treble like other people

Either way, the HE-560 is much brighter than the LCD-2. The bass is less full/enveloping (rather much tighter but still has good impact, especially with Focus-A pads) but the musicality is there, no question.

It's a big step forward clean and bright sound compared to the LCD.

What's your current setup?

Thank you. See my profile.

LCD2.2 with BHA-1, BDA-1, BDP-1 fully balanced. No, it's not very bright.

And I said I listened to a lot of classical. Not that I love the 2.2 for CM.

Or maybe Hifiman's QC and packaging suck... just a thought as well. I have never had such problems even though I am ordering from around the world frequently.

Don't be an early adopter... I am sorry for the people who are spending big money only to waste their time and get stressed in the end. It's definitely not their fault and therefore should be given an appropriate compensation.

OMG I never thought of that! Although the frequency of this happening to one address being shipped to has lowered the probability considerably. Freak of nature, coincidence, or bad luck? Maybe the guy forced to move X amount of packages per hour launching them into a truck at super tetris speed?

Mine came in perfect I was early to receive are many people having problems or just a few

i've seen a few people with problems. it's a small sample size on this forum. they started to change their packaging to tape up the gimbals before sending the package. they're listening to a certain degree but they have so many sales that QC is not too great atm.

  The deliveryman doesn't like him?

What really happened to the PJs HE560s (plural):

Here's what happens without the grill. I did the measurements extra carefully several times and twice over, without moving the headphones or mics on my head one bit. Very repeatable result, tiny subbass boost, 9k peak lessened, 15khz boost (airyness?).

Awesome graphs. Can you try one where you put your hand over the cups a cm or so away. Almost like covering the driver but with a cm air gap. I notice it sounds more 'closed' that way, and it'd be interesting to quantify what gives it that sound. Maybe giving us quantifiable measurements on 'closed' vs 'open' sound.
