Hifiman must be shipping the HE-560 with the smaller ear pads to China.  I received an email this morning from Hifiman China, that the new ear pads aren't ready yet!

I think they must have produced a small amount of them.  I believe they had demo models at the LA show no?

Nope, except they'll aim to make it Stax amp compatible, though that is second to the sound according to some user.
They are making an amp too, and they suggested amp and phone going to be pretty expensive..

I really want them to give an estimate. Like a combo around 2k, 4k, 8k? Just an estimate interval

That's too soon really.
Besides, they'll be making an expensive one and then a cheaper one afterwards, just like the HE-560/400i but electrostat territory.

My guess is the phones will be 1.5-2k and the amp 1-2k. That seems probable to me.

Semi-fact. They said they'd go all out this time and then downscale from there with lesser models..

I have the original HE-560. I received notice this morning that they are arranging to send me it's replacement. No shipping notice but I consider this a sign that the new HE-560 North American launch is very close.
