Quick question for he500 owners. Are these headphones suppose to be symmetrical? I thought mine felt a little uneven on my head and when I actually looked at them I realized the headband is quite crooked relative to the cups. Does this look normal?

Hold the headband and turn both cups with the other hand in one direction until the connectors are even.

The headband is rather pliable, you can bend it.

My new hybrid pads arrived today! Not too fond of the construction quality regarding shape, but the stitching is fine and they will do. Can't say that I'm finding them more comfortable at this stage, but they do need a bit of break in, headphone feels like its has a bit more clamp. The velour on the hybrid is definitely more itchy than the stock velour pads.

Still having difficulty trying to quantify the changes in sound after being so used to the HE-500 with the old velour pads, but its a definite improvement on the velour pads, sounds more balanced across the board and I'm definitely not taking them off!

Thanks for the feedback.  I couldn't resist, so I ordered a pair.  It's disappointing to hear that the new velour is itchier than the old stock velour.  Maybe the lint brush I have for cleaning my Q701 pads will help the new hybrids along.  I was really hoping HFM would up the quality.  But of course the most important thing is the sound.  Hardly wait to do some comparisons.  Looking forward to hearing more impressions.

I was expecting that you couldn't resist yet another pair of pads to play with. Maybe they won't itch your ears.
