It looks like im gonna end up buying a dna stratus,

Now out of the he-500 and he-6, ones gotta go.....

He-500 easier to drive, smoother, fun. Comes close to he-6 especially when powered off gsx

He-6 harder to drive, better overall, better bass, but also brighter and could still be better off with speaker amp. Gsx drives fine but might still need a little more...

The he-6 is basically brand new, not even sure its fully burnt in yet, iknow he-500 took forever to open up

The he500 could be on the bright side with ur silver poison cable..while ur waiting..maybe better ordering a black widow for ur he500 with Frank also?..
Ps..because u have the lcd 2, the he500 could sound a bit to bright.... Give him time.. Other way around is also true..going from he500 to lcd 2.. It takes time to get customed to both sounds..

I'm hoping the HE-500 will sound similar but be a bit more fun. I love the Audeze sound but it's not the last word in excitement.

Well...i had a brief personal moment with a lcd 2.2 for an hour or so and the 500 was indeed more fun to listen to... But as i said..the SP cable could be a bit to bright..for the lcd its perfect as its a darker phone and a bit better on the most lower bass frequencies..
Talk to frank about that..maybe a copper cable (BW?), the virus or the SW?

I'd say let go of the HE-500 and have fun with speaker amps for the HE-6. Plus, it's a bonus because you can add speakers down the road

I was doing a lot of research about Woo amps for my HE500.  My choices came down to WA6 SE and WA22.   I ended up with a WA22 partially cuz of my DAC's balanced outputs.  It came yesterday.  So far, I am quite happy and yes, getting itchy for some tube rolling again.

So when are you gonna give us a comparison between the Emotiva and your new toy?

Sorry, it's not going to happen cuz it won't be a sensible and practical comparison.  All I would say is that the Emotiva more than holds its weight in this fight for $189 when it comes to SQ(only apply to HE500 though).  Physical weight, Mini-X can't win. 

Law of diminishing return did kick in slightly moderate with this purchase.
