Scanning through the last few pages it just came off that way... Maybe it's just how I read into it? Maybe I just desperately want to hear the new models? Maybe it's because I've been snowed in for two days and I'm a little stir crazy?

I'll go now and build a snowman.

Yeah it sucks here in Charlotte, streets are solid ice and we just lost power now too. Won't be back on for a few hours. :frowning2:

I just caught up on the last few pages hoping to read new info and all I've learned is that some of you HFM lovers are a very defensive lot

My observation is that this is not uncommon on many threads when the discussion precedes the product release date.

I'll definitely take the 8 inches of snow, colder weather, and no ice here in Colorado!

Hang in there.

Well I guess since I came from the DT880 I think this is the complete opposite of metallic lol

yeah outside of those I must admit a lot of other headphones dont sound as metallic as either the hifiman or dt880.  The he500 I wouldnt say is totally metallic but they do have a sheen to them and lack the sweetness/beauty in full lush tones that others do. Coming from the hd650 i would definitely agree as imo compared to an lcd2 or hd650 isnt even close to being as organic sounding.

On the other hand the lcd2 even less so to me has a lot less wow factor and sounds more like a closed headphone. If I was choosing a headphone to stay here I would go the lcd2 route but the hifiman is such an impressive, clean listen, open, and free listen. Like your music is set free kind of.

- lcd2 is a sweet home wife who does everything right and is more mature now and inviting you to chill with her when you come home to a cooked meal

- he500 is what she was before you married her and you two went out a lot and dated before you settled down with her but there wasnt as much relaxing .You didnt find her as boring as she was after you married her.

Isn't the he500 "time" the best time? :D

You may be single for a loooooooong time
That's ironic because just like 1 hour ago a girl walked up and talked to me saying I'm cute haha

I'm kinda torn between studying physics or EE with specialisation in audio and signal processing.
