Very funny person. Having an urge to (try to) put people below you?

So you created an account just to state how ugly you find these? That is strange...
Anyway, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so move on

So you joined just to say how ugly these headphones are and how you won't be buying it because of it, excellent...

Yes, I created an account to join the discussion about the HE-1000 as I already own the previous 3 models.

You BOTH have NONE of the Hifiman headphones according to your info, if current.

So What Do You Do Here In This Thread? Trolling?

As far as their looks go, I saw the color variations CanDude made in this thread, and I was so hoping they were real. But nope. Well, here's hoping Hifiman stops having a fetish for cheap-looking wood finishes and gets back to some simple solid colors in metal or plastic.
As far as everything else goes, they seem to be great so far. Hoping I can get to listen to a pair sometime!

The only one with bad intent up to this point seems to be you so a little bit more diplomacy and calmness would be fine

I dig the old-school looks. Certainly not the sexiest headphone out there and I can see why some people might not be into it though.

X2.

I'm 99.9% sure that they would make more money by selling the HE-1000 $1500.

$2500 will be a show stopper for a lot of peoples here and even if the sound is 'out of this world', I predict that it's not going to be a commercial success.

I'm pretty sure that they could triple their sales with a competitive pricing...

QTYPrice Total
3000$1,500.00$4,500,000.00
1000$2,500.00$2,500,000.00

10000 x $1000 = $10,000,000

a cool 10 mil bucks...... where is the boss of Hifiman, i wanna talk some sense into him :p

Yeah if they're just making a statement headphone a la the Orpheus then they might as well price it 5k+, but if they are sticking to their corporate ideology and trying to make a reasonably priced product I think 2.5k is way too much.

Actually you are the first one to attack me for voicing my personal opinion. That wasn't very friendly was it?

So after that you just have to blame me for reacting to your unfriendly post(s)?
That is just childish but more diplomacy and calmness would be great indeed.

So I will find the block user button on this forum and never see your posts again.

Problem solved, and have a good day.

lol guys, this is a friendly community. if someone doesn't like the looks of a certain pair of headphones, that is perfectly acceptable.

i thought these were quite ugly when I first saw them as well, though they have grown a little bit on me from user posted the non-professional photos.

I still think they could have came up with a better color scheme, though if it's anywhere near the rumored price point of $2.5 or higher, it doesn't really matter to me I guess as they would be really far outta my price range hahah.

They are pretty luxurious looking, but a little bit feminine which may not be the best design for a largely male dominated market.

My price guess is $3899.  Solely based on the fact that they are putting them in the same league as the Orpheus.  If you're claiming to have made one of the best headphones in the world, you'll probably price it accordingly.  I can't imagine it would compete with the Abyss/009/Orpheus AND be half the price (or less).  This price is an indication that they are up there with the best, but a little more reasonably priced (comparatively).

Good job putting high pricing ideas into Fang's head :p
