HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

This is an industry where thousands of people are getting to pay their bills every month. It will not stop just because we hit the limits of human hearing.

There are just 12 notes in the western scale, and there are many songs out there that are using the same scales and chord progressions again and again and again, with a slight twist in the lyrics and a slight twist of image singing them, an image adopted to the trends of the day - yet still keep feeding a billion dollar industry. People are not tired of buying the same product in a new packaging. Most of those hits are not too different from the music of an average signer/song writer that barely makes a living out of music, but the ones with shiniest of images get to earn millions.

Headphones are just a cover up for people to be able to socialise online and do shopping therapy for self healing. It is not that people don't know about the limits of hearing. We did not evolve to become audiophiles, but to survive and hunt as large predators, hearing an insect walking on a tree while a volcano is erupting was not in the menu of evolution for us but we buy the idea of the audibility of -300 dB distortion in music, or using 256 bit floats to upsample PCM data. Even 50+ aged people claim to hear those.

So there's nothing wrong in being happy with our next nonsense purchase. It is all about hanging out here and having something new to say and catch up with the new trends.
Well said dargın dostum.

Is anyone successfully driving the Stealth with a portable DAC/AMP or DAP? My old Hiby R6 Pro is just not driving these to their potential. I guess I may try selling or trading. They've sat in a bag in a drawer for months.
Arya SE pairs well with the Mojo2

Hey guys, just stopped by to give some initial impressions

Having owned the OG (which is pretty much the V2 in my opinion) and the Stealth, i can say with ease that the Organic is the best version of ARYA thus far, it’s really impressive to see how far hifiman has came along regarding timbre.

I was a huge fan of the OG, although it did suffer from a plastic signature, it undeniably had a wow factor. You knew it was doing something special. I never got that feeling with the Arya Stealth, sure the stealth sounded more “correct”, but the wow factor was gone, atleast for me. People said the stage would open up but sadly it never did. I think people refused to accept that it was gone and created stage in their heads.

However, the Organic truly brings that stage back, I wouldn’t say it’s the same stage, but it is stage for sure. Also the wow factor is certainly there, if you close your eyes you will get lost so be very careful lol and don’t listen to any crap from the review guys, any negative comments i assure you is just nitpicking. We have a winner people! Do yourselves a favor! Bravo hifiman!

With the 1.7/1.9KHz adjustment it sounds very good and more natural, but less musical for me, in the end you realize that without any adjustment they sound really good, and that Hifiman spends a lot of time on this, the same thing happened to me with Arya Stealth, Eq It sounded good, but without EQ it also sounded very good, Hifiman's signature for me is of a high level.

In the end, harman is just a measurement, each person will have different preferences about HP, harman is not the law but is a good reference.

I have a big dilemma, I can go for HEK1 Stealth and have A/B with Organic, but I don't know if it's really worth it, I could keep the one I like the most, but I'm in this dilemma, if I don't I could keep the doubt, in any case from the recent opinions it is clear that both are very good options and they only have some peculiarities that differentiate them.

If you can afford it keep both and decide in a few months. If not decide on one and be happy

They tend to have recessed vocals but not all. I’ve found that I want them forward so I use EQ. All a preference

How do you bring them forward, do you adjust the mid range forward ? I am asking because I just brought a schiit Lokius today & was wondering how it was done. I'm completely new to the equalizer game I don't own the organic as yet but thought about opening up the sound stage on my arya stealth if thats possible.

Maybe start here
Then search for some videos about the frequency response of the individual headphones. Most of it all will be by ear. And foremost what type of music do you listen to. If this is going to be for a wide range pop electronic rock jazz metal classical then you’ll have to choose something less specific maybe. Not all headphones are good for every genre. Headphones.com has a one year return policy as long as you pay full price Ava return in perfect condition. It’sa good way to audition a few and see what you like best but you have to judge this with the headphones yourself. Not from theoretical posts

It can't be done with the lokius, the Q value is too small, and the frequency adjustment is not in the right place. You will need to boost between 1500hz and 2000hz to fill the "hifiman dip", which is the culprit for the recessed vocals.
