Just got RS8 for testing and Hibyplayer is not showing albums picture from WAV files with FLAC is looks good. Do I need to change anything in settings ?

Not necessarily "settings", is it the same album picture in either case? Otherwise it's probably more a case of the app happening to be able to display one picture but not the other, rather than what audio format it is.

One thing that regularly trips it up is progressive jpegs. (It takes baseline only)

Not sure, as both were ripped with AK player and I think they use gracenote, on AK SP3000 they are fully visible, but in RS8 only some albums not visible at all, on others only upper part some times 10, 20 % and in some album full picture. And they are visible in picture app the one preloaded on the player.
And by the way what is the ‘turbo mode"?

unbelievable after 2.5yrs acquired my rs8 still keep improving sound quality. now I can tell even very tiny bit difference of different recordings. the small instruments at the background never sound so clear. a lot of details unheard before. the top end is sky high. higher than any delta-sigma chip i ever heard. full of energy but in a smooth and natrual way.

it is now very very very close to perfect.

really have no idea how far it can go...maybe another 2.5yrs?

SIncerely i think it's a endgame! Only thing that is "improvable" is even more power but i think it's better to use a portable amp to prevent excessive heat

Its frankly in the top 3 daps in the market at the moment. At least amongst the ones I tried (many).

feature and versatility wise I think it's almost impossible to improve. Maaaaybe give it a slide-in battery tray and add copper heatsinks to give it cool temperature in the most unforgiving of heats
