I hope that HiBy makes it easier to replace batteries. The downside of almost all DAP units is that when batteries die (and yes they definitely go bad) the units need to go back to China. I have had to send Cayin and HiBy units back for repairs. In the case of HiBy, they had to go down to the local post office to collect my unit. The address is super long, and the odds of the units getting lost are not zero.

Anyone know which version this was ?

This was a limited run of the R8 when it came out. DAP identical but came in that briefcase and a Dignis case. Was the first 100 of that model if I recall.

As for RS8, one thing I’m hoping for is fixed 4.4mm LO (or selectable fixed / variable).
