Wonder if HibyCast is not APK only (but didn't find on APK Pure)... there is a missing link we just need to know where to get it
I am on iOS so for me no HibyCast unless I am mistaken

Actually HibyMusic does have a Hiby Link where the player can be a Server or Contoller and the phone version can be a Controller, similar to HibyCast. I was hoping the HibyCast would make it even easier.
I have a 7-inch Android tablet ($70), it is light and bigger than the RS8 so it would be nice once the RS8 is docked onto the CR08 and put into my audio rack to use the tablet to change things. But most likely, I will still use my laptops instead.
This is only a problem because the RS8 is performing so well that it sounds like a desktop dac without the desktop amp.

Correct! Guys, HiBy Cast isn't available yet. I'll be testing the beta app and reporting back here in the next week or two. @marcusd was using the same beta app for his review. This is NOT the same as HiBy Link, which only works with HiBy Music. HiBy Cast turns your smart device into a full blown remote control for the entire DAP! That means you don't need to pick it up or take it out the bag, you can control every aspect, including volume, from your phone. No other DAP can do this without clunky remote control software.
I have yet to hear it(the collectors version) on a high end desktop, I do have a meet with someone which I'll hopefully be able to compare with his desktop setup. I'm waiting on my zahl HM1.
Hello guys! Could you please report which LED-Colors you get when you paly music files with HibyMusic or another Music App? For example 16bit44.1khz; 24bit/96khz; 24bit/48kz; MQA; DSD-Files? This would be really usefull! I think something is wrong with my unit or the actual firmware...thanks a lot and happy listening!

I didn't pay much attention to it.
24bit/48kz - Yellow
DSD 1bit - White
Also some update, the RS8 has been more than 72 hours now. It is the first DAP which changes so much from first ear to what after 50 hours. Sound like two DAPs. So interesting hah~~
To someone may be concerned, for transparent level, RS8 is at same level as N8ii after burned in.
These two are actually have many in common, overall are both in analog sounding.

I am pleased that you are finally hearing the RS8 sound like the engineering master piece it is.
My experience with the RS8 burnin was different. My unit started off very close to where it is currently. I did however have a similar substantial change with the RS6. My RS6 continues to brighten up the bass, which is good since it was still after several days affecting voices. Now the RS6 after an hour of warm up sounds closer to the RS8

It changes big time doesn't it?
It's really something...
I would personally say N8ii is still significantly more transparent, RS8 is significantly smoother and more analog sounding to my ears even compared to N8ii with Tubes on. RS8 is more faithful to the "realness of music" than transparent in the usual technical sense of the term. It's something that makes it unique IMHO. It's hard to describe...
Bass wise, N8ii is snappier with a sharper attack and faster decay, RS8 is rounder more textured and with more mid bass emphasis. The midrange is more similar than different in terms of balance, but RS8 has weightier notes and beautifully rich timbre which makes it more "tactile" while being just as resolving as N8ii which helps since there is a bit less air between instruments you don't loose in imaging. N8ii has more lower treble presence it's more energetic but I must say RS8 upper treble surpasses N8ii in my book. It has more presence or maybe that's because N8ii has a bit of a lower treble emphasis. N8ii being more exciting in pure lower treble energy and RS8 being contrary to expectation more refined in the upper section. RS8 is a bit of what I expected on Tube / Class A with N8ii, to me N8ii analog sauce is more in the class A amp mode than Tubes that add just a little extra. That's why I just sold it can't justify having both.
Has anyone received their CR08 without purchasing it separately? There are more and more ideas that I want to try and having XLR outputs from the RS8 may give me that guilty pleasure Is "desk amp rolling" something new to DAPs?

Pair with Cayin C9 in class A, Vacuum Tube mode, the RS8 with C9 sounds even better than my LGPTI+ C9 combo. The humongous soundstage and great bass extension surprised me the most from this combo, hope i can expect more changes after more hours of burning (current hours is 40 hours).
