I wonder if the new batch also sounding like this....since hiby has to avoid burning resistor issue....
The seller only has only stock, with the suitcase, this is how you can tell them apart.I wonder if the new batch also sounding like this....since hiby has to avoid burning resistor issue....
oh you bought another new one? or exchange? The seller only has only stock, with the suitcase, this is how you can tell them apart.
I might open mine tonight and finally look into it. I might be crazy and it is all in my head, I will check tonight![]()
No I didnt buy a new one. I sent my RS8 for repair twice. The first time, after repair the sound was fine, but lasted 3 months before the same issue appeared. The second time I sent it for repair, after maybe waiting 2-3 months Hiby sent me a RS8, I think it was my unit as I failed to take notice of serial number. Issue is fixed, but not sure what exactly is fixed, I did asked.oh you bought another new one? or exchange?
Its quite a common comment I hear on new units and repaired ones.Even since the RS8 repair, my RS8 lost its warmth timber and sounds more lean. Each time I got to my local dealer and I compare my unit with his demo unit, I get annoyed as that is the sound I listen and used to justify buying RS8.
I don't know what resistor they used to perform the repair, no do I know what the repair they did was on. Something changed, and it now lost its magic.
omg this is done by official hiby china?I wish I opened my repaired rs8 when it first came. Somehow the repair guy managed to damage the battery wire. I guess he was too lazy to unplug it.
Why I say he was lazy, as he/she didn't event bother cleaning up the flux.
Who cares about the flux, at least completely remove the resistor you broke, instead of soldering a different type over it!

It was sent to them, whether they outsourcing, who knows.omg this is done by official hiby china?
could be outsourcing. I have similar experience with Sony MD walkmanIt was sent to them, whether they outsourcing, who knows.
I hate to think the maker of rs8 are capable of such a bad job!
My local mobile repair guy would do a far better job.
Edit: I forgot to mention that there meant to be four screw keeping the brass heat sink in place. They managed to loss two and install only 2.
that's extremely bad cheatingI ask Hiby why didn't you guys use original parts when repair my device? They said it doesn't matter and they objectively think it sounds the same. This is despite them saying else where that all repaired item will use original part to the dap.
They also told me that item I circled in red is some sort of saftey thing they installed. I asked them what is and why original one didn't have, lets say what other lie they will feed me.
