Hmm, gapless works perfectly for me, no matter if I use the SD card or connect to phone for Tidal.

This just might be the replacement for my Onkyo DP-S1... which is showing its age.

when you turn crossfade on, it turns gapless off and vice-versa. both aren't on at the same time. Did you turn gapless on and next turn crossfade on? If so, it would have turned gapless off.And for me now, as I ammended the Gapless option was not turned on though I was 100% certain I had turned it on

Would gapless automatically turn back on when you turn crossfade off?when you turn crossfade on, it turns gapless off and vice-versa. both aren't on at the same time. Did you turn gapless on and next turn crossfade on? If so, it would have turned gapless off.

Have now updated to fw 1.04 with the 50.000 tracks limit on the database and have inserted 2 sd cards with a total of about 60.000 tracks. This makes library navigation virtually unuseable. Going via the Artist entry, opening an Artist to get the list of albums for that artist takes 5-10 seconds. Going via Genre and opening a genre takes 5-10 minutes before the list of albums are shown and the gui is responsive again. Browsing via folders is fast but as mentioned before even the smallest font is too big to show enough characters in the folder name to make recognicing individual albums possible, especially with classical music, the folder names simply get too long and identical within the characters shown. I would have to redo my folder structure and add a composer/artist level to make this useable. Sound is nice and build and form factor is good.
Edit: after 30 minutes opening my largest genre with 6-700 albums the gui is still not responding, hard reset is the only way to regain control. Seems that if I decide to keep the player I will have to rebuild my folder structure and work entirely on folder browsing. About 3.000 folders to rename/split

I have 22000 tracks in my library on one 1TB card. I have not really had any issue navigating using the Artist mode other than the somewhat frustrating limitation of only seeing three lines at a time. Thanks for testing the user experience with a large library, very useful info

Got about 100 hours on it now and have listened about 10 hours to all types of music with the Tansio Mirai Sands and it’s certainly got a lovely tone and sound. Mid range and vocals are clearly the star but it’s not exactly bad at either end either.

Stupid question, just in term of DAC, does RS2 achieve similar performance as Hifiman EF-400?
Exactly my thoughts. I am about 70 hours in now, initially, the bass was a little on the looser side, but now it's a lot more improved, and feels a lot tighter.Got about 100 hours on it now and have listened about 10 hours to all types of music with the Tansio Mirai Sands and it’s certainly got a lovely tone and sound.
