Have got a RS2 for causal use at home, mainly with HD650.
Happen to have a Gryphon, and use a USB-COAX cable to link the RS2 & Gryphon.

Just wonder,
1. if I m using the DAC of RS2? Or I m using the DAC of Gryphon?
2. If I link up the RS2 & Mojo2 via USB, I believe I m using the DAC of Mojo. Is it the same case for Coax in to Gryphon?

Appreciate any input.
It would take a lot of convincing me that you aren't using the Gryphon and Mojo DACs.

Correct. The USB cable turns the RS2 into a digital transport to the external DAC/Amp.
My impressions are that the RS2 dac is performing close to Ares II. I already used several times Audio-out from RS2 to two RCA into the Burson Soloist 3 XP and I am positively impressed by the performance of the RS2 dac.

Hey guys, my big review of the tiny HiBy RS2 is now online HERE.

Quite complete and full of details review. And very righteous!
Just, no info on pairing with headphones -and I think the RS2 does pretty well also with headphones like Denon 5200, Sundara, Senn HD560s, Sony Z7M2...

I'm currently listening to it with an Aéon RT Closed, I can tell you it's a killer... :L3000:
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. To be honest I didn't try it with headphones because I can't see the use case, but clearly you guys are using headphones with it and enjoying them too. If I get a chance I'll hook up my MDR-Z1R and see what the RS2 can do with it.

Good to see someone else likes the Hela. I think it is a very good match with the RS2 and very good value at the price.

Nice review btw

I am still thinking, if this DAP is something for my Stellia...
I find this pairing to be not great. The Stellia is capable of much more than the RS2 can deliver

HiBy RS2 serves me well with most of my IEMs. And it is slowly growing on me too with its lovely midrange. One thing I noticed recently on my RS2 is that it has an issue identical to the RS6. When you put it right next to a smartphone(with a mobile network obviously), you hear a noise. This was there on the RS6 too.

Ah! I had that when demoing the RS6 and thought it was the cable!

Nah bro it was in the RS6 too and now in the RS2 too. But only comes when we put them right next to a mobile network active device. I didn't notice this much near Wi-Fi.
