Thank you for sharing the link. A lot of time went in to this review, I hope you liked it.
Anyway, great player, my fav in the segment.

Thanks for the review. Good to know that the USB DAC functionality is on the way. I was surprised not to see it in the 1.1 firmware.

Same here but I think it couldn't been i was just turned off by the slow UI on a 5,000 (aud ) player.Hoping I enjoy the hiby R8 way more .Coming from dx208 I really enjoy the sound but I found the ui unusable.

It will be like going from an abacus to a calculator in speed 😁👍

Its mad seeing people only just getting to put pre-orders in several months after my stock arrived 🙈

thank you very much for the great, rounded review! It's a shame you didn't receive a DX220MAX to compare with, because this is in many ways the obvious competition (price and release date wise).

I'm concerned that sound settings are done in the HiBy app: do you think this mean that other apps (such as Tidal) do not have access to the same audio rendering features as the HiBy app, because these features are not exposed at the system level but rather baked into the HiBy app?

and it stills feels to me that the AK4497s call out for an R8Pro with AK4499s...
