Eventually it starts to work but I am not sure how - like after 20 mins or so..
I wasn't able to duplicate your issue. Sounds like you would need to try looking at the Android logcat per this post https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hib...-to-popular-dap.895449/page-141#post-15001137

I do that too . Just wondered if a iPhone , Hiby direct connection would work.
it would work, you need a CCK cable for the iPhone.

Can you explain what you mean (maybe what setting in what menu) by "allowing all permissions." I would be curious to see if I am set up the same way.

Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Info > Google Play services and google play and just make sure all the permissions are on.

Just to add I've been getting this error when checking for updates

The permissions can be granted by going to System Settings (the Settings app in the main drawer, not in HiByMusic)->tap Apps & notifications->tap See all xx apps (if required)->(Scroll down)->tap Google Play Services->tap Permissions->turn on the toggles (Location and Telephone seem to be the two main ones that might give trouble not turned on but you may just turn them all on if you want)

You can do the same for Google Play Store which is also in the Apps & notifications list.

Did you clear the cache when you granted permissions? I did system wide and from the apps themselves. Don’t know if that helps, but hopefully

No need to worry for now, 1.15Gbeta is already the newest there is out there. HiBy HQ advised that you may want to check to see if date, time and region on the R6 are set correctly before checking for updates.

I have one , so exactly hot would you connect ? USB -c cable to iphone camera connection kit and then what? What setting needs to change on the hiby?
Ya I’ve done this so I can plug my Audeze LCD’s into the balanced port on the HiBy and then to my iPhone 7.

I just used the usb to usb-c cable that came with the HiBy and plugged it into the camera adapter, then plugged the camera adapter into the lightning port on my phone. You need to enable USB-Dac mode on the HiBy

Only issue I had was when I plugged a lightning power cable into the second port in the camera adapter, it wasn’t enough to keep everything powered so the battery would charge would slowly go down

Qobuz will still only play via chrome casting not headphone ans not Bluetooth)

I got the following screens

And the HiBy Music app has disappeared
