Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP

What version of Tidal does a better job of unfolding MQA ?

I see you on HBB discord. Thanks Jim for your help.

I like my S8F's better unbalanced since the hiss is less then 4.4mm .
So, I finally completed install and downloaded my library. Happy to report that Tidal 2.11.3 works precisely as it is supposed to - first unfold happens correctly in on line and off line mode, reporting either 96K or 88.2K as appropriate for MQA files. I am definitely keeping Google Play Store auto update off until I hear that the compatibility between the R6 Pro and Tidal has been worked out...

On the hiss issue... yeah, I think I described it as sounding like a basket of snakes... IEMatch works well, but a lot of times I just play music loud enough to just not notice except in the gaps...

Good to see you on Head-Fi as well!

Does the color of the LED on the power button give a clue? It should change based on the sample rate...

Here is the info I got from Hiby...

The lighting scheme for the LED for different sample rates are supposed to be as follows:
Not playing: pale blue

32-48kHz: blue

88.2kHz-192kHz: green

352.8-384kHz: orange-yellow

DSD: white

For example, here's a 176.4k file playing from my local library, and she's lit up nice and green.

That LED is one of the reason I like this player. When I stop the music, the light goes off within sec and I’m assured that when I press play again next 10-12hrs, it will resume at same point with minimal battery drain.

Is anyone using UAPP on your HiBy R6 Pro to stream Tidal? If you do and you have the tier that supports MQA, what is the max sample rate you are able to achieve?

As an example on my LG v30, through UAPP I can achieve 192kHz on the MQA track “Ridin’ Roads” by Dustin Lynch. However on my R6 Pro I can only achieve 96kHz. Either this is an unfortunate limitation of the R6 Pro, or I have my UAPP settings incorrectly set for MQA on the R6 Pro...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You sure it’s not the hiss from the recording itself? I don’t detect ant hiss issue with highly sensitive earbuds .
