HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Does any body use the Plugin DRX 10K Dynamics. I find it quite amazing. Total changes dynamics and makes the HiBy R6 III sound like a totally different DAP. Amazed.

In the Audio Settings of the HiBy R6 III there is a heading Plugins. "DRX10 Dynamics" is one of them. It makes a big difference in sound that is quite different to equalisation.

beside downloading is it possible to install manully plugins on the device?
i keep getting error "download failed", did try on different networks but still can't download any plugins.
A very noob question. - I got the player, I wanted to understand how can it be used as a desktop dap. I tried putting in the driver and connecting it to my desktop. However, how does one access the music/library or play it. thank you
I just received my R6 2020 and find that the only USB DACs I can use are those with a volume control. All of them without a built-in control blast at full volume regardless of the R6 volume control setting and regardless of any app except UAPP which works normally. I have tried the various USB menu options without success. Operation is normal on all non-USB outputs.
Any and all suggestions are welcome!
First off let me say I've had the R6III for a few months now and I have had zero issues with it, no crashes, everything works perfectly, sound is awesome, none of the problems that I've read about in this thread. Bit I'm in a quandary. I don't normally connect to the Internet, I have my music stored on SD card, but I signed up for Spotify and decided to try it out on the R6. The app downloaded fine, I set up Spotify and again, works perfectly without issues.
So the point of this post is that whilst I was connected, a firmware update was offered to version 1.31_20230905-1333, I'm currently on firmware 1.21_20230522-1659 so the question is, should I bother to update, considering the problems I've read with other users after updating? If I had to do a factory reset as some have suggested, what are the repercussions of this?

Firstly it definitely is possible to get a functional, clean version of FW 1.31_20230905-1333. I originally was quite unhappy with the thought of having to do a factory reset and made @Joe Bloggs aware of it. I went ahead eventually, upgraded, did the factory reset and lo and behold, it is great... BUT some still have freezing with the HiBy Music App. If you don't use the HiBy Music App and have a preferred music app, you should be safe. If you are happy with FW 1.21_20230522-1659 no reason to change though. Philosophically nothing in life is guaranteed and all is impermanent, but an old gangster once said to me "Steve...if you don't shoot you don't kill"
