Love this thing. Super snappy UI and fantastic sound. MSEB settings are fun to fiddle with.

That’s not good news… are you covered by local warranty?
Danke. I can still return it, since it's a recent purchase.

Question is if the same thing happens with the next one?

Maybe the firmware version? I'm on 1.10_202030109-1339

After the complete reset, I connected to wifi, and it prompted a new version:

1.11_20230310-1937

Edit: No change. No output from 3.5 or 4.4

My new R6 gen III had been working fine. Wired 4.4 and 3.5 fine. Bluetooth fine.

All of a sudden, it no longer outputs music through either the 4.4 or 3.5 outlets. When I play in the Hiby (and other, like foobar) apps, the unit makes visual indicators that a song is playing.

The unit does shows a “wired” when an iem is plugged in. Bluetooth is completely off.

However, no music plays. I tried doing a complete reset, all data, and let the Hiby app find all the songs on the micro sdxc card. But when I try to play a song, same thing. No music.

It used to play fine from both, and I didn’t intentionally change any setting, and I can’t find any setting that would somehow apply, that would let the unit visually appear to be playing, but no music plays.

I tried this with different IEM’s that play in other players. So it’s not the iem.

Is the unit just broken by itself, all of s sudden?
I had something similar with my first unit as well. It locked itself into the 4.4mm phones out jack and wouldnt play out of any of the other 3 jacks and bluetooth audio was fine as well.

Out of curiousity what colour was your unit? My first one was grey (which i prefer) but have gotten black for my second unit due to stock issues.

I connected a HiBy R6 III via a pentacon 4.4 mm balanced line to Geneleс G3 (active speakers).
Now I hear constant loud, very loud clicks. Clicks between songs and just like that. They hit on the ears.
Please tell me how to get rid of these loud clicks.

Which app are you using for playing / streaming? Lately I was experiencing that with Qobuz in 2 different platforms- so I assumed an issue with Qobuz

Lots of early noise on problems here, I have had no problems at all. Even with old update and the new one.

Need to ask is there a way to control the volume if I connect a dongle or DAC/AMP trough USB C on R6 III?

Tried to use my Megatron amp and it only blast full volume since it need to be controlled by the device, other DAPs can do this like HIBY R3, Shanling and Sony.

Just going to add. My second unit is also suffering from the sample rate conversion on apple music and on qobuz. Hopefully a new update can fix this cause i really do adore the sound but part of the whole shtick of android daps is not having to deal with sample rate conversion.

Im on the most recent firmware 1.11

Out of curiosity, I left my R6III on (in standby) during the night (about 10-12hs) with only WiFi turned on and it just decreased 2% of the battery.

I think it's pretty good with practically no need to turn it on-off when not using.

I've also been super lucky and haven't run into any issues yet. I do however upscale sample rates on Poweramp to 176.4 kHz so I would have never noticed the sample rate issue. Soundcloud doesn't do anything higher than 44.1 kHz and I haven't paid much attention to Tidal's sample rates. The only issue I have is the double tap to wake feature is super hit or miss. It was bad on my old R6 2020 as well. Glad to see people are sending issues over to Hiby and that they're taking note on fixes for the next firmware update.

I've experienced issues with the double tap as well but have just gotten used to using the power button to wake the device.
