I already have a Cayin N3pro pocket heater so I am OK with the suspected lower Bias voltage to save battery and cut down on heat . I just ordered the R4 Evangelion Edition. Hopefully it still sounds similar to the regular version. It looks amazing. I feel stupid because I clicked before I knew the estimated shipping date. Oh well hopefully I can be patient.

Well what do you know. Hiby knows what they're doing. That's why I'm still a huge fan. There is an on/off setting to turn off thaf anime tuning stuff after all.
So, I've read the text shared on this post and their (hiby's) explanation on their website on what they have done to get the "anime tuning" (as well as better battery life, etc), and I'm definitely no expert but would you guys say my worries are unfounded that it actually won't be possible to switch between both tunings as they mentioned in the quoted post?

I'm not interested in the anime tuning, even though the better battery life and less heat is definitely appealing, but particularly the narrower Soundstage has me worried and is what is stopping me from just hitting the "order now" button.

I know I shouldn't buy something with the promise that it will get better (to me) in the future but damn these limited editions haha

Same here. It wouldn't make sense for Hiby to muck up what is already working with the OG R4. Their internal components seem to be identical so any tuning must be cosmetic and so it can be removed or reset to the OG settings. The heating has not been an issue since a few defective units came out at launch. Bigger storage just means the ram and rom chips were replaced but the circuitry is still the same just like you see mobile phones with same specs except for different storage options. So, imho, this should be an easy upgrade path.

Here's the text itself (part of it). Now that I've read the specifics, I'm having second thoughts... narrower stage??? The OG R4 doesn't even have a wide stage as it is. Why fix something that's not broken?

I'm good with the extra ram and rom plus the colorway. Tuning? Nah!

Perhaps this question has already been asked, but why does Hiby Music Player sort folders and files according to some of its own rules, for example numbers and special characters at the end, although they should be at the beginning and then letters?

What music player are you guys using on your R4? I'm willing to give the hiby player a try but I have a feeling I'll end up with something else. I've heard good things about Uapp and power amp but I'm not sure, any suggestions? (poweramp does look quite cool, though!)
