Here are some pics of the excellent Miiter case for r3- r3pro. I really like it better than the 'official' case. It's not as boxy, fits tighter and has a lower profile, and the buttons are easier to use. The buttons are kind of recessed in the official case. Oh and it's softer. Highly recommended.

The Hiby R5 is going on sale down to 274.50 US in about 5 hours on their official store at Aliexpress. This is an insane price. I am going to upgrade from my R3 Pro to one. This deal is just too good to pass up. Hopefully a few other people take advantage of this price as well.

I've had them both. I actually liked the sound of the r3 pro better. The r5 is warmer and has a more intimate stage. But it's a really nice dap, especially at that price. I paid 400 dollars for mine.

Alright, I just bought an R5 in black.
Appreciate if you could do a short comparison between R3 pro and R5, non-amped, later. I was also looking to upgrade within the Hiby DAP family 2 months ago, but went and got SR25 instead. Was hoping for an R5 Pro release then - which never came. TIA.

Did you try both on the balanced output ? The single ended output, certainly when used without a separate amp, will be more narrow in soundstage.

I only use balanced out, balanced out on r5 is more intimate or narrow than r3p. It's noticible and the tonality is different. It still sounds great and has more output power I just like r3p better personally.

Plus I don't really stream, so the form factor is better for me. I think the saber pro is even a touch bigger in the sound stage than the vanilla. It (r5) reminded me of the ak sr15, that was a bit narrow too.

And I use iems pretty much exclusively, so no external amp needed for me

It looks like today Hiby released a special edition of the original R3 Pro (not the Saber), in a mint green color. They posted on their Facebook page:

Introducing the new release of the HiBy R3 Pro in GREEN! A limited edition with limited quantities, so order now and be the first one to get the mint green R3 Pro!

In the U.S. it is also for sale through MusicTeck: https://shop.musicteck.com/collections/hiby/products/hiby-r3-pro?variant=32407749689406

I personally really like this color more so than the Black, Red or Grey, so I ordered it. I will post pictures once it arrives. These are pictures posted by Hiby:

What is the difference when pairing with mojo? Sonically?? How does it affect the battery life on both r3pro and mojo?

Though the Amperiors are ancient and mostly forgotten by now, I must say they pair beautifuly with all of the DAPs I own, especially the Saber. Sadly though, I don’t see the Saber being available anymore on Amazon since they were limited edition only (unless I’m mistaken.) Too bad. Besides being unable to update the firmware without editing Windows 10 security features, it’s an amazing player otherwise.

There is a glitch with mine though that was also present with my R3 non-Pro player in that the main menu screen would mesh with the other menus when the device is put to sleep for a while. The only fix is a factory reset.
