If that was the case then my other cheap dongle dac will be silent too, i thinkHave you tried going into the full volume menu and changed the volume of each of the three streams to see if it might be on a muted stream by accident?

@Joe Bloggs Although it may not be their intended purpose, HiBy DAPs are quite popular (I think
) as digital source—like what @Marrogwar is doing.
Is there a way to diagnose in Android whether an external DAC (or other accessory) pulls too much current and that’s why it does not work?
I believe the Thruthear Shio uses a CT7601 USB bridge. It’s a quite common chip and it should not be a problem, unless it has a buggy/outdated FW (very possible…)

No…
What do you mean? M300 is a standard Android 13 device, except for the default 192kHz resampling (SRC). Most Android phones have 48kHz SRC.
It works.What android smartphone do you have that doesn't play out to a DAC?![]()
I meant special acess to usb dac to play directly from it. Like uapp, hiby app can do.
Nvm...

I meant sound quality. If no diff, no sense for me.Is there any difference between m300 + usb dac vs any smartphone + dac.

there have been reports that sometimes the DAC starts playing after you move those sliders even though they were on to start with, can you give that a try?If that was the case then my other cheap dongle dac will be silent too, i think

I tried just now. No, still no sound through DAC. Those sliders are for speaker in this state.there have been reports that sometimes the DAC starts playing after you move those sliders even though they were on to start with, can you give that a try?
Hello everyone. I noticed that my M300 is not stable when working via Bluetooth. The volume increases very sharply and quite significantly from one press of the volume key. Who has encountered this? What's the problem?

Just a post for someone searching for a basic bluetooth DAP. My Fiio M6 was getting a little combersome with my VERY large MP3 library. It serves as a feed to my various BT speakers for various outdoor activities. Have been looking for a potential replacement for awhile. With prime day, I stumbled on this unit and liked what I read online so I went for it. Happy so far. Much snappier than the Fiio. Better than the Shanling M1. The music app does pretty much what I need. The BIG benefit is it allows me to change font size. My old eyes struggle with the M6. I cannot comment on the sound quality wired as it is strickly for BT connection 4me as I have a higher end DAP for my FLAC library. This appears to be a very good basic bluetooth media server and the Hiby app has whats needed. I would suspect that connected via USB, it would serve as a good media server to a better DAC.

I know the M300 does not offer bit perfect audio through the headphone jack, but I had heard that it offered bit perfect audio through the USB. I tried connecting it to my Schiit DAC, but it's not changing sample rates. It seems to be fixed at 192 khz, no matter what file size I play on Hiby app or Apple Music.

The M300 has a system-wide 192 kHz default SRC for all the standard apps, including HiBy Music or Apple Music. It would also extend to the integrated DAC/Amp (headphones jack).I know the M300 does not offer bit perfect audio through the headphone jack, but I had heard that it offered bit perfect audio through the USB. Something like UAPP should be able to bypass the default SRC and send bit perfect through the USB port, but I haven’t tested…
Hola Mark and LinstantX. I'm new to the forum and to the M300 (5 days), but bluetooth was a first-day test of the device, and it has worked fine for me then and since, thankfully. No issues with volume or volume control. I have paired it successfully with Soundcore Q35 headphones, Soundcore A40 in-ears, and a Bose Revolve II speaker. I did install the Soundcore and Bose Connect apps first, though that is not likely to be a factor. The volume key works fine, as expected, although it did not with the M300 case which I also ordered: I am definitely returning that and am hoping someone produces a new one, probably with the buttons exposed. Then again, I may decide that I do NOT want to cover my blue beauty!Any solution? I have the same Bluetooth is heard very low and master volume Seems not to work if I use bluetooth
Good luck with your volume issues. Let me know if I can answer any related question. This is my second HiBy so I am more experienced than 5 days suggests.

P.S., Have you guys installed firmware 1.4 which I've just learned included a system volume fix that may be relevant to you??

I'm new to the M300 (5 days). I have used the integrated speaker only a little to test its operation. I have not found an app with which it does not work, though I do note significant volume differences/capacities among the few I have tried once or twice (HiBy, VLC, and Amazon Music -the only three I expect to use, but it's early). I do have to raise the volume all the way for all apps, but that is fine for my use-requirements.I’m in the same boat; I also wanted to know why some apps do not work with the integrated speaker and others do not (they work only by connecting a Bluetooth headset).
I expect to use the speaker only with the voice recorder app if at all, but it's early. For this app, it is evident that I have to speak fairly loudly right into the mic(s) first of all, and that I'll prefer to use headphones to listen to myself on the few occasions I use this novel feature. So far, I'm fully satisfied with the music reproduction I'm getting from the M300 and that is plenty for me. Plus, it is quite beautiful in Blue!
Good luck getting yours to work satisfactorily.
Per a Facebook entry I found in Bing:I'm asking because the current version I have, several of the apps crash when I open them, and sometimes earlier versions are more stable and I would like to know if anyone has 1.41 what changes or improvements it has and if it's worth the update.
New firmware version 1.40 for M300 is available!
Changelog:
1. Added the function of "Parental Control";
2. Fixed the issue where operating the Fn button in power-off may lead to incorrect status after power-on;
3. Fixed the issue where the system volume could not be adjusted after enabling some third-party apps;
4. Fixed other bugs;
Simply go to Settings -...
BTW, the M300 I received 5 days ago came with 1.4 installed which impressed me, along with a 91%-battery charge so I could move right into setup, installation, downloading. loading, playing, testing, etc. from the point of hitting the power button: cool, bravo HiBy!
